Expert League of Leagues (LoL) analysis and LCS DFS lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on 07/09/21.

Hey everyone, good morning/afternoon, and welcome to RotoBaller's coverage of League of Legends DFS for both FanDuel and DraftKings. Be on the lookout for coverage of the LPL, LCK, and LEC as well as we have some great analysts covering all LoL leagues for the Summer Split. Team SoloMid vs. CounterLogic Gaming

First on the docket of games today, TSM vs. CLG. TSM is coming off a big win vs C9 last weekend and looks to continue to plow through this league against a weaker team, CLG. CLG had a week or two long span of playing very well, but it was short-lived and their back to bad communication, many mistakes, and little to no strategy in-game. TSM is the complete opposite of this team. TSM loves the slow game and technically dominating their opponents. Even if CLG tries to fight, as we saw last week with C9, I'm not looking to use TSM as the main stack in any lineup. They make for a decent secondary stack with their team score being generally high and the possibility of one player hogging the kills.

Unless you're playing numerous lineups, I don't suggest getting any CLG in your GPPs. Even in a win they likely don't score enough to be worth it against TSM, teams rarely do. I don't hate the idea of punting at their team slot in order to fit higher ceiling builds, but overall I'd stay away.

Top TSM Plays: TSM, PowerOfEvil

Cloud9 vs. FlyQuest

FlyQuest made a bunch of roster swaps this week and are starting their academy roster for the weekend. This includes NXI, Triple, Kumo, Tomo, and diamond. I understand that FQ felt that they needed to take action, but pitting their academy team against a full force C9 is really unfair to the players. The odds in this one are lopsided, and deservedly so. It's one of the best teams, if not the best, in the LCS against an academy team without major experience playing at the highest level in North America.

Until C9 plays against a tough opponent, like TSM last week, my analysis stays the same. This is C9 we're talking about, they make for a great cash play as well as GPP. They should be fairly chalky in GPPs but the use of underdogs paired with them can lead to unique and interesting lineups with major upside.

Top C9 Plays: All

100 Thieves vs. Golden Guardians

Golden Guardians have been my go-to stack over the last few slates for their leverage and their ceiling possibility. With the addition of Licorice, they improve as a team and I'll be looking at using them in future slates at a higher frequency, but not in this one. In this matchup, 100 Thieves are the clear superior team both technically and in their team fighting ability. I'm not going to look to use GG in any of my lineups and will be looking at using 100 Thieves often in both cash and GPP formats.

Overall, TL;dr, 100T is way better than GG, don't use GG, use 100T.

Top 100 Thieves Plays: All, Abbedagge, Closer

Immortals vs. Evil Geniuses

This is the game I'm most excited for on this slate. All of the other four games seem to be open and shut analysis where the favorite is going to have a hard time losing.

IMT had a tough weekend of games last time out and came away 1-2 with losses to TSM and C9. EG had a much easier schedule with wins vs GG, CLG, and FQ, arguably the worst teams in the LCS. This matchup should set the tone for each of their weekends and I think IMT are going to come into it with more fire under their seats. They need to have a good weekend of games as this split has not been super friendly to them. Insanity can abuse in the midlane and carry them to victory they just have to be able to take advantage of Jiizuke's mistakes.

Both of these teams make for fun GPP stacks and I'd make sure to have exposure to both in my builds.

Top IMT Plays: Insanity, Raes

Top EG Plays: Danny, Impact

Liquid vs. Dignitas

Liquid has had some struggles recently as last week they went 1-2 over the weekend. Although it was against decent teams, they still didn't look great out there on the rift. Dignitas has played pretty poorly this split but did show life last weekend with a 2-1 record including a win over top team TSM.

This match is surely going to be won in the bot lane with Tactical vs. Neo. Both of these players carry their teams in most games and their priority will be getting them a good champ, and feeding them. If we see either fall behind the other early, their team is likely to be beat.

Both teams have academy players in their roster and have taken some time to grow accustomed to their play styles. This should make for an interesting game as it features two teams that play very similarly and with a high pace.

Top Liquid Plays: Tactical, CoreJJ

Top Dignitas Plays: Neo, Aphromoo

Summary

  1. This slate's incredibly chalky, the IMT EG game is the only one I'd like to have exposure to both sides in.
  2. C9 is my priority with a focus on 100T as well.
  3. TL has really struggled and I don't mind taking shots on DIG.
  4. I'm not one to make predictions but I'm going to have a fun 5 game parlay each week where I post my picks here in the summary. This week I'm going with TSM, C9, 100T, IMT, TL. ! Good luck to all that are playing this weekend!
