Jerome Ford start 'em, sit 'em fantasy football lineup picks for Week 16. Should you start or sit Jerome Ford in Week 16 (2023) fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start at RB in 14+ Team Leagues, Start at Flex in 12 Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB3
ANALYSIS: Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford has been inconsistent in terms of both his usage and his efficiency. Ford only carried the ball eight times last week for 20 yards. He has been held to fewer than 10 carries in three of his past four games, and he hasn't had 20 carries in a game since early November. He has also been held to fewer than 3.0 yards per carry in three of his past five games.
Ford and the Browns face the Houston Texans in Week 16. The Texans' defense is tough against the run. They have allowed the fourth-fewest rushing yards to running backs. They are the 14th-least favorable matchup for fantasy RBs based on fantasy points per game. Running backs do catch a lot of passes against the Texans, though. They have allowed the seventh-most receiving yards to running backs.

The problem is that Joe Flacco is a downfield passer. He has been averaging over 12.0 yards per completion in his three games as a starter. The Browns are throwing the ball over 40 times per game with Flacco under center. But the passes to Ford are mostly dump-offs that he can't do anything with. Ford is typically a low-end RB2, and in this unfavorable matchup, he will likely fall into RB3 territory.
