BALLER MOVE: Start in 14+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB3/Flex
ANALYSIS: With the breaking news out of Kansas City that starting running back Isiah Pacheco will miss the Chiefs' Week 14 clash with the Buffalo Bills, fantasy managers are left wondering which RB to target in the KC backfield, Jerick McKinnon or Clyde Edwards-Helaire?
Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has already confirmed that Edwards-Helaire will get the start and "is the number one guy..." against the Bills. Despite that declaration, we can also expect the veteran McKinnon to be involved in the KC passing game.
The entire fantasy football community is asking Clyde Edwards-Helaire or Jerick McKinnon
Playing the Bills, so could be a close, competitive game
McKinnon hasn’t played in multiple weeks and is fully healthy, in fact, they talked about it as “load management”
Give me McKinnon
— Adam Koffler (@AdamKoffler) December 8, 2023
Many fantasy managers will remember that McKinnon was a league winner down the stretch last year. While he's been banged up and lightly utilized to this point in 2023, the veteran remains an explosive player that both Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes trust in big situations.
CEH may indeed get the bulk of KC's rushing attempts against the Bills, but McKinnon should be considered a viable Flex option in deeper leagues thanks to his proven upside in this potential shootout environment.
