BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 12% of leagues
ANALYSIS: St. Louis Cardinals infielder Jedd Gyorko fell off of the fantasy radar earlier in the season, but he has regained his fantasy value. He has slashed .304/.400/.507 in August and has eight extra-base hits this month, including three home runs. Gyorko has a double in each of his last three starts, registering a run scored in three of the last four starts.
Gyorko entered this season having averaged 25 HR/600 PA for his career, but he has seen his homer total drop from 30 in 2016 to just 11 this season. While his power is down a bit for the season, Gyorko has a soft hit ball rate of just 12.1% since the beginning of August. With a line drive rate of 24.1% in August, Gyorko has seen his batting average rise and his 44.8% fly ball rate could lead to more homers.
Gyorko also has positional flexibility that makes him interesting in deeper leagues. While we suggest picking him up in 14-team leagues, there could be an argument made for Gyorko in more shallow leagues as well.
