Los Angeles Chargers tight end Gerald Everett had the best year of his career in 2022, but the sledding has been tougher for him (and his fantasy football managers) in 2023.
Los Angeles’ top tight end is averaging a career-low eight yards per catch and has only averaged 20 receiving yards per game in eight outings. He has been slowed by a hip injury and an inconsistent offense, and now another injury might dent his fantasy worth even more. Everett injured his back in Sunday’s shootout loss to the Detroit Lions and did not return.
So will Everett be able to suit up Sunday against the Green Bay Packers? Here is the latest!

Is Gerald Everett Injured or Healthy For Week 11?
The jury is out on Everett's odds to show up this Sunday. His back injury cannot be too severe if he has been labeled day-to-day. This means he is questionable to play against Green Bay. There will probably be an update on Everett’s availability later in the week after the Chargers practice a couple of times.
Keep your eye on Everett’s status this week. If he is eventually deemed unable to play, his tight end teammate Donald Parham Jr. would be a solid waiver wire replacement. Parham Jr. is a touchdown-dependent tight end, but this year the touchdowns have come consistently (four TDs in nine games). The most yards Parham Jr. can be expected for in a game is 40. In four seasons he has only had three 40-yard games in 42 career contests.
Everett is still the top tight end on the team when healthy. Parham Jr. is a bigger body with a different skill set, so both can get snaps and targets, but Everett is in no danger of losing his starting spot. Focus your fantasy radar on Everett’s situation as the week progresses and you should get a clearer picture of whether he will play on Sunday or not.
