Is David Montgomery injured or healthy? Is David Montgomery going to play in Week 8? Should I Start Craig Reynolds for fantasy football? Read the latest fantasy news.
Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery (ribs) missed last week's loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He also missed practice this week as he continues to nurse the injury.
The Lions don't play until Monday night against the Raiders, giving him an extra day to get back on the field. However, that extra day also makes it tough for fantasy managers to plan around Montgomery.

Is David Montgomery Playing In Week 8?
Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery did not log a practice all week. That's obviously a bad sign for his availability for Monday night's game.
Montgomery has two 100-yard games this season and has been a key part of the Lions' offense when healthy. He's an obvious must-play in fantasy when healthy.
But with Montgomery not practicing all week and the Lions not playing until Monday night, fantasy managers should operate under the assumption that Montgomery won't play in Week 8.
Should I Start Craig Reynolds
If David Montgomery is out, Jahmyr Gibbs is an obvious must-start after his strong game last week. But that's not the question we're answering here. We know you should play Gibbs. Would Montgomery's absence put Craig Reynolds on the fantasy radar too?
Craig Reynolds had three carries for 16 yards in Week 7 and caught a nine-yard pass. Meanwhile, Gibbs had 68 rushing yards and 58 receiving yards.
It doesn't look like the Lions plan to split touches between the two running backs very evenly. Reynolds saw 10 carries in the game that Montgomery was first injured in, but Gibbs missed that contest. With Gibbs healthy, fantasy managers should avoid Craig Reynolds this week, regardless of David Montgomery's status.
