George Kittle - Fantasy Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Picks for Week 11

George Kittle's fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 11 (2023). Our advice on whether you should start or sit George Kittle for fantasy lineups.

BALLER MOVE: Start in 10+ team leagues

POSITIONAL VALUE: TE1

ANALYSIS: San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle has been one of the best tight ends in the league every year since he became a full-time starter in 2018, his second year in the NFL. This year has been no different. Kittle is the TE6 in PPR.

Kittle's production has sometimes been inconsistent since the 49ers brought in an amazing group of playmakers. It is not possible to feed all of Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel, Christian McCaffrey, and George Kittle's appetites every game. Someone has to be the odd man out. Kittle also spends some games blocking more than catching passes, something he also excels at and enjoys doing.

But since Week 5, Kittle has been on fire. He has scored over 10.0 PPR points in four of his past five games and over 20.0 PPR points in three of his past five. In each of the past two games, he went over 100 receiving yards. All four of his touchdown catches this season came in the past five games, including three in Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys.

In Week 11, the 49ers face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs are only allowing the 18th-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends. The numbers for tight ends contain a lot more random variability than the numbers for other positions, like QBs or RBs, however.

The Bucs have actually allowed the 11th-most receiving yards to tight ends, which again is heavily influenced by luck, but they have only allowed two touchdowns. It is fair to say Kittle and the 49ers are more proficient at scoring touchdowns than the average tight end and the average NFL offense.

If we can say anything about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, we can say they are a pretty middle-of-the-road defense both overall and when it comes to covering tight ends. Kittle is a star, so you should start him against average defenses and even against quality defenses in most cases.

Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups - Bam Knight, Tyler Allgeier, Brian Robinson Fantasy Football Outlooks

Productive running backs in fantasy football are a dime a dozen, and all those that have starting jobs are drafted in fantasy drafts. For the most part, their direct backups are too. But there are still quite a few that aren't, and they make for good pickups in fantasy football off the waiver wire. However, […]

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin (fibula), San Francisco 49ers wideout Kendrick Bourne, and Las Vegas Raiders WR Tre Tucker have all seen their production affected by injuries to them or their teammates.
