Fantasy Football Week 11 Busts? Players Who May Disappoint: Derek Carr, James Conner, D.J. Moore, D'Onta Foreman

james conner fantasy football rankings news NFL DFS lineup picks

Who should I start or sit for fantasy football Week 11 of the 2022 season? Tommy Adamopoulos identifies potential fantasy football busts and duds to avoid.

Welcome to Week 11 RotoBallers! The season has been flying by, and it is now crucial to make the optimal lineup decisions on a weekly basis. As injuries and bye weeks pile up, it is essential to start racking up some wins as the playoff race is in full force.

Heading into the eleventh week of action, we are well into the most crucial point of the regular season, as fantasy managers who have gotten off to a slow start need to string some wins together from here on out. It isn't too early anymore to panic about certain players, as at this point, we can get a great idea of how good or bad some fantasy rosters are.

Here are some players I think will be in for a tough game in Week 11 and could disappoint their fantasy managers. However, there could be some managers out there who aren't in any position to bench these players given that we must deal with bye weeks and injuries to notable players. Here are some players that fantasy managers need to temper their expectations for.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Should I Bench Derek Carr In Week 11?

Carr and the Raiders have had an absolute nightmare season to this point, and it won’t get any easier for their offense against one of the best defenses in the league. The Broncos have allowed the fewest passing yards and passing touchdowns, which makes Carr’s outlook in this one extremely murky considering he doesn't produce much with his legs.

In their first meeting, he somehow managed 40 rushing yards to somewhat salvage his passing stats, as he totaled just 188 yards with zero touchdowns. Given the state of these two teams, this could be a low-scoring slugfest that produces no noteworthy fantasy production.

Carr has relied almost exclusively on Davante Adams this year, as he accounted for 101 of Carr’s 188 passing yards in the first meeting, but this could be hard to rely again on as Pat Surtain II has looked like one of the league's best corners in his sophomore season.

With Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller on IR, Carr’s arsenal of weaponry is extremely shallow besides Adams, making him a borderline must-bench option against the league’s best pass defense.

Should I Bench James Conner In Week 11?

Conner is coming off his first game of noteworthy production in a long, long time, as he found the end zone for the first time since Week 1. He will now go up against the 49ers' run defense, which has given up the least amount of rushing yards and yards per carry this season.

With the recent release of running back Eno Benjamin, Conner could be in for more of a hefty workload as the Cardinals could be with Colt McCoy under center for the second straight week on Monday night.

Conner has been inefficient this season, averaging just 3.8 yards per carry. The 49ers' run defense is a match made in hell for the bruising back, but a sizeable workload and nose for the end zone could offset any inefficiency concerns.

He isn't a must-bench, but fantasy managers shouldn't expect much of a ceiling in this game.

Should I Bench D’Onta Foreman In Week 11?

Foreman has had the look of a league-winning RB2 waiver wire pickup with some massive recent performances, but he is in for a tough test in Week 11 against the Ravens. The Ravens have allowed the third-fewest rushing yards this season and just added Roquan Smith to the mix, making it a tall task for Foreman to have any notable fantasy production in this one.

We have seen what the Carolina offense looks like with Baker Mayfield as the signal caller. The potential game script and likely limited opportunity to score touchdowns make Foreman a player to downgrade in this one.

In the blowout loss to the Bengals, Foreman saw just seven carries for 23 yards as the Panthers' offense was forced to throw often. Lamar Jackson against the Panthers’ weak defense seems like a recipe for another game where Carolina trails, potentially icing Foreman out of the game plan.

He should be able to produce low-end RB2 numbers, but fantasy managers shouldn't get too excited about his outlook.

Should I Bench Garrett Wilson In Week 11?

Wilson had six catches for 115 yards in his last meeting against the Patriots, but what we saw from Zach Wilson in their previous game against that stout defense makes me think we could be in for one of the Jets’ floor games. We have seen stat lines like four catches for 24 yards, one for eight yards, and three for 27 yards from Wilson this season, so it isn't out of the question that he absolutely duds in this one.

The Patriots have given up the seventh-fewest passing yards this season, and Bill Belichick’s ability to ice out the No. 1 option in the opposing team’s offense should not be taken lightly. It is safe to say the Patriots' defensive game plan will place a heavy emphasis on slowing down Wilson, making him somebody whom fantasy managers should temper their expectations in this one.

Should I Bench D.J. Moore In Week 11?

Moore started to look like he was turning his season around with P.J. Walker under center but here comes Mayfield back into the mix, making Moore almost impossible to start against the Ravens in Week 11. The Ravens' secondary has given up the eighth-most passing yards this season, and Moore’s outlook is not encouraging at all.

Moore will probably be seeing a lot of Marlon Humphrey fresh off a BYE week, which means there is almost nothing in his favor this Sunday. Mayfield has made fantasy managers with Moore on their team want to rip their hair out, as we have seen stat lines like one catch for two yards, and three for seven yards this season.

There’s always the chance that he can overcome the tough matchup and poor QB play due to his undeniable talent, but still, there isn't much appeal in starting anyone on the Panthers this week.

Should I Bench Tyler Higbee In Week 11?

Higbee’s fantasy stock is definitely on the rise with Cooper Kupp out of action, but he draws a nightmare against the Saints, who have allowed the fewest fantasy points to tight ends this season. Higbee is almost impossible to bench given how thin the tight end position is, but fantasy managers should be aware of this matchup.

Plenty of volume could help overcome this, as he has seen eight or more targets in four games this season. Without Kupp, there is a legitimate chance that he is the No. 1 option in the passing game as Matt Stafford has shown a lot of trust in his big tight end.

On a per-game basis, the Saints allow 3.7 receptions for 33.2 yards and 0.1 touchdowns to tight ends.

With the state of the Rams' offense, it looks like Higbee could be in for a dud, which we have seen in three of the past four weeks.
