Players to Target in Trades for Fantasy Football
Tyrone Tracy Jr., RB, Giants
New York Giants running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. has had a relatively quiet season so far after missing two games with a shoulder injury, which allowed rookie Cam Skattebo to take over as lead back. With Skattebo now out for the season after suffering an ankle injury in Week 8 against the Eagles, Tracy is set up to handle the majority of the touches in New York's backfield.
The 25-year-old worked as the Giants' lead back last season from Week 5 on and earned over 17 opportunities per game while playing 68.3% of the snaps. He averaged 14.3 PPR points per game during that stretch, ranking as RB20. Veteran Devin Singletary should mix in for touches occasionally, but most of the volume will likely go to Tracy.
Verdict: Prime buy candidate if you can acquire at a mid-end RB2 price
Travis Hunter, WR, Jaguars
ESPN's Michael DiRocco suggests that the Jacksonville Jaguars need to get first-rounder Travis Hunter more involved on offense over their final 10 games if they are going to be in the playoff hunt, and head coach Liam Coen hinted at a lineup shift coming out of their bye week. "We are going to play the best 11 [on each side of the ball] as much as humanly possible," Coen said. It sounds as though Hunter is going to be a "significant player in the offense going forward."
In the Week 7 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in London before the bye, Hunter led the team in targets (14), catches (eight), and receiving yards (101) while playing a season-high 64 snaps. The former Heisman Trophy winner now leads the Jags in catches (28) and is second in receiving yards (298). DiRocco doesn't think we should be surprised if Hunter "starts getting the WR1 treatment" in the second half of the season.
How it will impact Hunter's role on defense is unclear, but this would be excellent news for Hunter's fantasy managers going forward.
Verdict: Buy if you can at a reasonable price, as his upside is not baked into his cost
Michael Pittman Jr.,WR, Colts
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. continued his strong start to the season in a 38-14 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 8. Pittman caught eight of his nine targets for 95 yards and a touchdown in the win, setting season highs in catches and receiving yards along the way. The veteran wideout has been a dominant red-zone target this season, catching six touchdowns in eight games for the Colts.
Overall, Pittman has caught 43 passes for 446 yards while operating as the team's No. 1 receiver. Pittman will remain a rock-solid WR2 heading into a Week 9 road matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Verdict: Top buy candidate. Pittman is producing as a low-end WR1 but is likely valued as a WR2 in most leagues

Players to Trade Away for Fantasy Football
Rico Dowdle, RB, Panthers
Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales strongly suggested on Monday that Week 9 against the Green Bay Packers "will be the week he ditches the shared carries approach and rides the hot hand and feet of Rico Dowdle," according to Joseph Person of The Athletic. Chuba Hubbard missed some time earlier this year with a calf injury, which coincided with Dowdle having the best two-game stretch by a Panthers running back in team history.
Carolina leaned on Hubbard in Canales' first season in 2024. They gave him a four-year, $33.2 million extension last year, and the Panthers don't want to trade him at this year's deadline. Hubbard will still be involved in the backfield if he's not traded, but Dowdle's production this year -- 5.7 yards per carry, 605 rushing yards, and two touchdowns -- makes him deserving of lead-back duties.
Dowdle has earned more work over Hubbard and will be the one with RB2 upside this Sunday against Green Bay.
Verdict: Sell-high following this recent update. Hubbard will still limit his overall ceiling going forward
TreVeyon Henderson, RB, Patriots
New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson's long-awaited emergence finally happened during last Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns. The rookie rushed for 75 yards on 10 carries, with his best play being a 27-yard run. He wasn't involved in the passing game, nor did he lead the team in touches, but he was far more efficient than Rhamondre Stevenson and proved that he can excel even against a strong run defense like Cleveland's.
An increased rushing workload is a good sign for Henderson going forward, as he should continue to earn more snaps on a wide variety of downs. His 21 percent snap share from last weekend is bound to increase, too. The biggest area of focus for Henderson now is ball security, as he lost his first career fumble against Cleveland.
With that said, Stevenson hasn't been any better, losing three fumbles of his own in 2025. Moving forward, Henderson should continue to eat into Stevenson's workload while emerging as a fantasy football threat.
Verdict: Use the brief sell window if Stevenson were to miss time to acquire another viable FLEX option
RJ Harvey, RB, Broncos
Denver Broncos rookie running back R.J. Harvey had the best game of his young NFL career in Week 8 against the Dallas Cowboys, recording 51 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns on eight total touches. Harvey had been held to 57 scrimmage yards and one touchdown over his last three games combined entering Week 8, so his outburst is a welcome sign for fantasy managers.
Still, there's reason to doubt that Harvey's big game is a sign of things to come. Veteran Broncos running back J.K. Dobbins still earned more than double Harvey's touches (17 to eight) against Dallas. Additionally, outside of a 40-yard run, Harvey recorded just 11 yards on his other seven touches combined. The Broncos have a much tougher matchup in Week 9 against the Houston Texans, which may mean Harvey will remain tough for fantasy managers to trust as a starter.
Verdict: Sell-high after breakout game. He is still the clear RB2 on the depth chart and will not carry much standalone upside
