Taysom Hill - Fantasy Football Rankings, Waiver Wire Pickups, Draft Sleepers

Fantasy football injury updates and injury reports for tight ends (Week 9) as of 11/2/2023, including TEs Darren Waller, Taysom Hill, David Njoku, Logan Thomas, and Luke Musgrave.

The fantasy tight end position is always tricky to navigate, and injuries to key players make start-or-sit decisions even tougher. Week 9 features some must-start studs and a couple of mid-level streamers. Our fantasy football injury reports for tight ends for Week 9 as of Thursday, November 2 will give you the latest news on the statuses of Darren Waller, Taysom Hill, David Njoku, Logan Thomas, and Luke Musgrave.

Being up-to-date on NFL injury news can give you an edge over your league mates in fantasy football. Now that the regular season is in full swing, fantasy managers should stay locked into the latest injury headlines.

Darren Waller Injury Update

New York Giants tight end Darren Waller (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday due to a hamstring issue. The veteran missed eight games last year due to the same hamstring ailment, and head coach Brian Daboll said he could miss multiple weeks moving forward for the G-Men. The former Pro Bowler apparently kept coming back too soon last season, and the organization does not want a repeat of his final year with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Sitting at 2-6, New York is headed toward a lost season. That said, it won't be a surprise if they are extra careful with Waller and don't play him until he's 100% healed. His fantasy managers will need to look for a replacement on the waiver wire.

Taysom Hill Injury Update

New Orleans Saints quarterback/tight end Taysom Hill (hip) was listed as a limited practice participant on Wednesday. Hill was dealing with a chest injury last week but played in the Week 8 win over the Indianapolis Colts and impressed with nine carries for 63 yards and two touchdowns while also catching a pass for 14 yards and throwing two passes for 44 yards. The 33-year-old Swiss Army Knife's status is worth monitoring ahead of the Week 9 contest against the Chicago Bears, but he appears to be on track to play as long as he doesn't suffer a setback.

Hill has now scored three rushing touchdowns in the last two games. However, he hasn't seen more than nine rushing attempts in a game and his usage will continue to be sporadic for fantasy managers looking to cash in.

David Njoku Injury Update

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (ankle) missed Wednesday's practice due to an ankle injury he apparently picked up in the Week 8 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Njoku played 77 percent of the offensive snaps on Sunday and broke out with his best game of the year, catching four passes for 77 yards and a touchdown on his eight targets. The 27-year-old was seen working on the side at practice, so it's a good bet he's just being rest ahead of the team's Week 9 meeting with the Arizona Cardinals.

We'll continue to monitor the tight end's status ahead of this Sunday's game. Njoku was a popular waiver-wire pickup this week in league's where he was still available. If he's active in Week 9, he'll be on the TE1 streaming radar, regardless of whether quarterback Deshaun Watson (shoulder) returns. (ClevelandBrowns.com)

Logan Thomas Injury Update

Washington Commanders tight end Logan Thomas (heel) got in a limited practice session on Wednesday. Thomas played a full complement of snaps in a Week 8 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, so it is possible that the team is just giving the 32-year-old veteran a bit of a break heading into a Week 9 matchup against the New England Patriots.

Provided that Thomas doesn't suffer a late-week downgrade, he should be good to go for Week 9, although fantasy gamers will want to keep an eye on Thursday and Friday's practice reports.

Luke Musgrave Injury Update

Green Bay Packers rookie tight end Luke Musgrave (ankle) put in a limited practice on Wednesday. Musgrave initially injured his left ankle in Week 7 but he managed to play in the Week 8 loss to the Minnesota Vikings and saw 74 percent of the offensive snaps. The 23-year-old first-year player caught just two of three targets for nine yards. Barring a setback with his ankle in practice this week, Musgrave should be good to go to play in Week 9 against the Los Angeles Rams at home.

Behind a patchwork offensive line and with an inexperienced quarterback, the Packers offense has really been stagnant in recent weeks. At best, Musgrave should be considered a high-end TE2 streamer with limited upside heading into Week 9.
