FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (4/20/21): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Mike Marteny highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 4/20/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

It's a light night in the Association with only five games going on. Of those ten teams, we'll be lucky to have 100 active players with the way the NBA is going this year. We already know that His Beardness and K.D. are sitting for the Nets. Damian Lillard will be sidelined with a bum hamstring. Jusuf Nurkic will join Dame in street clothes for injury management.

There are at least a dozen other players already ruled out and a few questionable tags which we wont find out about until shortly before tipoff. And if this slate is anything like last night, we'll have plenty more guys sitting announced throughout the afternoon. I'm not even sure the implied totals matter anymore. Choose a couple of studs that you like. There will be more than enough value to play at least two, if not as many as four, of them.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 4/20/21. I’ll be providing multiple player suggestions for players at guard, forward, and center on FanDuel, aiming to highlight one option apiece at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. You can also check out DraftKings lineup picks and injury news before lineups lock. Good luck, RotoBallers.

FanDuel DFS Guards

De'Aaron Fox, PG – vs. Minnesota ($9,900)

Even though the Kings have dropped nine straight, Fox is still performing at an elite level. He has at least 58 FanDuel points in three of the last four games and hasn't dropped below 45 since a game against the Bucks on April 3. That includes a 53.7 FanDuel point line against this same Minnesota team in that span. Fox is one of the few guys that still sees big minutes night in and night out. He hasn't been under 35 minutes since April 2. That gives him a pretty strong floor and we all know what the upside is, especially against a weak defensive team.

C.J. McCollum, SG – vs. Clippers ($8,100)

I'm pretty sure it's part of the Ten Commandments of the NBA. When Dame is out, thou shalt play C.J. The price is reasonable enough considering he has struggled to produce at his usual level with Norman Powell now in the fold. I'm a huge fan of Powell tonight as well since he will likely start on the wing with C.J. taking over point guard duties. This isn't a great matchup, but you never know what kind of crazy lineup the Clippers are going to throw out there. Kawhi only played 22 minutes against Minnesota over the weekend. That was the first time Kawhi and Paul George had been on the court together since April 8. I'll take my chances with C.J. here. You can almost count on someone for the Clippers sitting now.

Cole Anthony, PG – at Atlanta ($5,600)

Anthony has worked his way back into the starting role that he vacated after a rib injury back on February 9. He has played around 30 minutes in each of the last two games with his production following suit. Anthony has 72.2 FanDuel points in 62 minutes of court time. He has another cake matchup against the Hawks tonight. If Anthony gets 30 minutes again, he should at least flirt with 7x value against this team.

Also consider: Kyrie Irving ($9,400), D'Angelo Russell ($6,300), Derrick Rose ($5,800), Bruce Brown ($4,800)

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Zion Williamson, PF – vs. Brooklyn ($9,800)

Kevin Durant is sitting out, so there's definitely not anyone up front for the Nets that can put the kibosh on Zion dominating them. Williamson is averaging 47.3 FanDuel points per game since missing three games at the beginning of April. He has got at high as 65 in that span. The Pelicans are letting him play big minutes and they are loving the big production. Some more of both is coming tonight. He may not hit 65 like he did against Philly, but it's not out of the question either.

Norman Powell, SF – vs. Clippers ($6,200)

Powell has been putting up good numbers and playing well over 30 minutes a game for this entire month. Portland clearly had plans for him when they went and got him from the Raptors. Powell has a lot of upside here with Lillard out and C.J. having to run the point. He should get more shots than usual. This still isn't a great matchup, but Portland is still a perimeter oriented team. That is especially true when Nurkic is out. I like the higher workload and shot total without the price increase.

Chuma Okeke, PF – at Atlanta ($5,400)

Okeke's shooting leaves something to be desired, but he still contributes in many other areas. This is a nice matchup for Okeke and the Magic are a little short up front with Otto Porter, Jonathan Isaac, and James Ennis still out. Okeke does plenty enough defensively to almost pay this price off. If he raises that shooting percentage a little, he's going to blow past value at this price shortly after halftime.

Also consider: Julius Randle ($9,400), Bogdan Bogdanovic ($7,100), P.J. Washington ($6,500), Taj Gibson ($4,400)

FanDuel DFS Centers

Karl-Anthony Towns – at Sacramento ($10,800)

The Timberwolves have eased Towns back into things after missing two games last week for personal reasons. He should be back to normal minutes here against a Sacramento team that he put 51.1 FanDuel points on ten days ago. Towns' production has been about what we would expect in limited minutes. So long as he's back up over 30 minutes here, he should pay off this price tag against the Kings, who are without Richaun Holmes again.

Steven Adams – vs. Brooklyn ($6,000)

The Nets have been better up front of late, but Adams does most of his damage without the ball in his hands. Zion does the bulk of the scoring. Adams is down there hauling in rebounds and grabbing few buckets left over for him. I like him in this matchup due to the fact that his actual scoring doesn't affect his final DFS score much at all. It's his defensive stats that carry the line for Adams.

Hassan Whiteside – vs. Minnesota ($5,400)

Even when Holmes has been sidelined, the Kings don't play him much. However, Whiteside gets more fantasy points per minute than any other player in the league. Since returning from a two game absence, Whiteside has 93.8 FanDuel points in just 63 minutes over the last three games. Whiteside is incredibly successful in this role even if he doesn't net many more minutes with Holmes out.

Also consider: Clint Capela ($9,400), Wendell Carter, Jr. ($6,400), Mo Bamba ($5,000)
