FanDuel MMA DFS Lineup Picks: Woodley vs. Burns - UFC Fight Night Daily Fantasy

Dennis' top FanDuel MMA DFS lineup picks for UFC Fight Night on 5/30/20. This DFS slate features Tyron Woodley vs. Gilbert Burns, and Dennis predicts the winners.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns on Saturday for its fourth and final showing in the month of May. After the organization hosted three cards from the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena throughout the course of only a week span earlier this month, the UFC heads home to Las Vegas and will feature 11 battles. Emanating from the UFC Apex, UFC on ESPN 9 is another welcome DFS event for those who are in need of some competitive action during this barren time in sports.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy MMA lineup picks for FanDuel for UFC Fight Night on 5/30/20. You can check out our DraftKings MMA DFS picks as well. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced fighters and value picks on FanDuel.

UFC Fight Night Welterweight - MMA DFS Lineup Picks

Tyron Woodley, $22 - vs. Gilbert Burns

Woodley will be making his return after losing the Welterweight strap to Kamaru Usman in March of 2019 at UFC 235. While "The Chose One" originally had his sights set on arch-nemesis and recently renounced American Top Team practitioner, Colby Covington, for a showdown at UFC 249, he will instead fight Gilbert Burns. The 33-year-old has fought four times across multiple weight classes since Woodley's hiatus, with the 2nd degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt winning all of them.

Coming into this one, both men match up well in terms of grappling prowess as well as striking capabilities. However, with the former champ sporting an insane takedown defense rate of 93 percent, the odds will be in his favor to walk away from this one with a win, potentially setting up a championship rematch with Usman somewhere down the line.

UFC Fight Night Lightweight - MMA DFS Lineup Picks

Roosevelt Roberts, $21 - vs. Brok Weaver

After Weaver was knocked out by Rodrigo Vargas via an illegal knee in his last bout, he was declared the winner by disqualification. He will be looking for a decent showing against Roberts, who is fighting for the first time since a decision win over Alexander Yakolev in November of last year.

Roberts is potent in the submission game and is capable of ending this one using a variety of maneuvers. However, he is also solid on his feet and currently maintains a Significant Strike rate of 3.31 per minute. Weaver will attempt to avoid another knockout, but that may not happen against "The Predator," who will be going after the 10th win of his career.

UFC Fight Night Strawweight - MMA DFS Lineup Picks

Mackenzie Dern, $19 - vs. Hannah Cifers

Dern is a world-class grappler, with a resume that includes a collection of ADCC, Nogi, and World Jiu Jitsu gold medals. The Wellington Dias protege has been highly touted since her inception in to the UFC and won her first two fights with the organization. However, after taking a hiatus due to pregnancy, she returned only four months after the birth of her daughter and suffered a three-round decision defeat to Judo specialist Amanda Ribas.

She will be stepping into the octagon for the first time since the defeat to square off with Hannah Cifers, who is coming off a loss of her own to the heavy-handed Angela Hill in January. Though anyone theoretically has a shot at winning at any given point, Dern has a significant advantage over Cifers, who only possesses a Jiu Jitsu purple belt, likely leading to a submission victory.

UFC Fight Night Welterweight - MMA DFS Lineup Picks

Daniel Rodriguez, $13 - vs. Gabriel Green

Rodriguez is currently sporting an 11-1 record, finishing 10 of them throughout his career by either stoppage or tap out. His last win came at the expense longtime UFC veteran Tim Means, who was dispatched by Rodiguez back in February of this year courtesy of a guillotine choke. After Kevin Holland pulled out of this bout after sustaining a shoulder injury, he will now go toe-to-toe with former Bellator competitor Gabriel Green.

Though the "gifted" one sports an impressive record in his own right, he is taking this fight on short notice and giving up plenty of size. As a result, look for "D-Rod" to potentially finish this one very, very quickly, especially since Green is vulnerable on his feet at times.

Also Consider: Casey Kenney ($19), Billy Quarantillo ($18), Jamahal Hill, ($17), Chris Gutierrez ($17), Blagoy Ivanov ($16), Antonina Shevchenko ($15)
