Miami Marlins relief pitcher Dylan Floro is a fantasy baseball waiver wire pickup for Week 26 of the 2021 MLB season. Consider adding the RP if he's a free agent in your leagues.
ANALYSIS: The Miami Marlins have been wholly committed to relief pitcher Dylan Floro as their closer for more than a month now. No other Marlin has recorded a save since August 14. Since that date, Floro has converted eight of his nine save opportunities and he now has 12 saves on the year.
Floro has been far from spectacular out of the pen this year, but he's doing more than enough to keep his job as Marlins closer. Over 63 appearances on the year, he's maintained a 3.05 ERA, a 1.27 WHIP and a 21.7% strikeout rate. He's been excelling at minimizing hard contact with a 33.1% hard-hit rate that ranks in the 88th percentile and an 86 mph average exit velocity that ranks in the 93rd percentile.
The Marlins have a bit of a tough schedule to close the year. They go up against the Tampa Bay Rays this coming weekend before closing the year against a pair of playoff-hopeful division foes in the New York Mets and the Philadelphia Phillies. The Marlins took two-out-of-three against both the Mets and Phillies the last time they met and Floro earned a save in each series. He should continue to rack up more saves over the final week and a half of the season. Fantasy managers in need of saves for the final stretch should look no further on the waiver wire than Floro.
