DraftKings Main CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Daily College Fantasy Football (9/21/24)

Kyle Monangai - College Football Rankings, NCAA CFB DFS Lineup Picks

Mike's DraftKings daily fantasy college football lineup picks for Saturday's Main Slate (9/21/24). His CFB DFS lineup picks and DFS sleepers will help you win.

DraftKings upped the ante with a baker's dozen on the main slate this week. We're a little light on the nooners, but not on the entertainment value. Florida heads to StarkVegas in the battle of struggling teams. Marshall heads to The Shoe as a sacrifice. Houston is in the Queen City to take on the Bearcats. Kansas heads to Morgantown to take on the couch burners. We have the always-entertaining NC State at Clemson game to finish the nooners.

Arkansas opens the afternoon in Auburn. UCLA heads to Red Stick to take on the Tigers. Arizona State is in Lubbock for what is now a conference game. The Redhawks head to South Bend to take on the Irish. The Bees are in Louisville to take on the Cardinals. Rutgers heads down to Blacksburg to face the Hokies. USC is in the Big House to face Michigan. We finish the slate in Stillwater with Utah in town.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/21/24, locking at noon EDT. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks

Sam Leavitt, Arizona State ($8.5K)

Most of the time I wouldn't dream of using Leavitt in this situation. His three rushing touchdowns on the season are inflating his stats a bit. It is also the reason why Leavitt is a great play here.

Texas Tech allowed Washington State quarterback John Mateer to run for 197 yards on it in the loss in Pullman. Mateer's wheels are a little better than Leavitt's, but not enough to ignore the potential for points Leavitt can rack up on the ground.

Taylen Green, Arkansas ($7.5K)

Green still isn't a high-percentage passer, but he has improved since his days at Boise State. We're using him for the same reason we're using Leavitt: rushing ability. Green has 245 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the ground.

He has also shown growth as a passer with his 416 yards in Stillwater. Auburn allowed almost 450 total yards of offense to New Mexico. Arkansas has much better players in every position. Arkansas is going to put up nice offensive numbers in this game.

Tyler Shough, Louisville ($7.2K)

We've never doubted the ability of Tyler Shough. His ability to stay healthy is a different story. This will be the first game where Louisville needs to lean on Shough at all. That should only help the overall stat line. Shough has six touchdowns and no interceptions through the first two games with 581 yards. Another 300-yard game is a given.

Donovan Smith, Houston ($6.3K)

Smith has mostly struggled this year, but the Cincinnati defense hasn't been much better. The Bearcats have allowed 902 passing yards in three games. Granted, Cincinnati has played a couple of solid teams in Pitt and Miami of Ohio. Allowing 244 yards to Towson is concerning. This is a good spot for Smith to get right.

Also consider: Alan Bowman, Oklahoma State ($8.3K); Garrett Nussmeier, LSU ($8.1K); Hank Brown, Auburn ($7K); Alex Orji, Michigan ($6.7K)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs

Kyle Monangai, Rutgers ($7.6K)

Monangai ran for 143 yards and three touchdowns on the Hokies last season. The Virginia Tech defense is marginally better than last year, but the Hokies have allowed 571 rushing yards in three games. Old Dominion just chewed them up for 243 yards last weekend. Monangai could have another monster game here.

Cam Skattebo, Arizona State ($7.3K)

Much will be made of Skattebo's yardage total (62) against Texas State, but I'm more interested in workload (27 touches) and touchdowns (two). He's still the main piece of this Arizona State offense and we saw what Washington State did to Texas Tech's run defense. 30 touches from Skattebo could break the slate.

Micah Bernard, Utah ($5.8K)

Bernard has back-to-back games of over 100 rushing yards. Cam Rising indeed played less than two of those eight quarters, but if you look back to 2022, Utah's offense was at its best when it balanced the passing game with Bernard and Ja'Quinden Jackson running the ball.

Speaking of Jackson, he is now at Arkansas and torched the Pokes for 149 yards and three touchdowns in Week 2. Food for thought.

CJ Donaldson, West Virginia ($4.9K)

Yes, Jahiem White still sits atop the depth chart for the Mountaineers, but Donaldson is still a big part of the offense. His touches have increased in every game so far this season and he has scored at least one touchdown in every game. He carries a little more risk due to White's presence, but Donaldson can easily pay off this price with his allotted 15 touches.

Also consider: Tahj Brooks, Texas Tech ($7.8K); Woody Marks, USC ($7.5K); Kalel Mullings, Michigan ($7K); Caden Durham, LSU ($4.1K)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers

Kevin Concepcion, North Carolina State ($7.6K)

Concepcion has been a target hog in the early going for the Pack. He has 22 receptions in three games for 199 yards and three touchdowns. The problems at quarterback last week didn't affect Concepcion much. He still caught eight passes last week. However, the 25 yards have to be considered a disappointment.

At any rate, Concepcion will have to be heavily involved again if NC State has any chance of pulling the upset.

Andrew Armstrong, Arkansas ($6.9K)

Armstrong has 18 receptions in 26 targets with 301 yards in just two games. He hasn't found the end zone yet, but it's only a matter of time. He's putting up huge numbers even without touchdowns. Once he finds the end zone, he might break slates.

Kevin Coleman Jr., Mississippi State (5.5K)

Coleman is leading the team in all receiving categories and has scored in every game. He has the trust of Blake Shapen. The Bulldogs will have to throw to have any chance at hanging with Florida. Expect Coleman to garner a large number of targets once again.

Aaron Anderson, LSU ($4.2K)

Anderson notched five catches for the third straight game against South Carolina. Remarkably, Anderson keeps putting up consistent numbers across from a target hog like Kyren Lacy, but here we are. Anderson is a stable option at a very reasonable price.

Also consider: Kyren Lacy, LSU ($8.1K); Brant Kuithe, Utah ($6.2K); Cade McDonald, Miami (OH) ($6K); Elijhah Badger, Florida ($5K); Jake Briningstool, Clemson ($4.8K); Lake McRee, USC ($3.8K)

DraftKings CFB Stacks

LSU

The Bruins have been terrible so far this year. You can pair Nussmeier with both Lacy and Anderson while still having money for whatever you want if you add freshman RB Caden Durham to the stack.

Arkansas

Green, Jackson, and Armstrong are all off to terrific starts. That should continue against Auburn.

Also consider: Arizona State, Louisville, Auburn
