DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (7/22/23): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

Logan Webb - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Starting Pitchers, Draft Sleepers

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on July 22, 2023. Josh Costello's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Happy Saturday, RotoBallers! I'm back with another Saturday main slate DFS breakdown. Friday's main slate was jam-packed, and Saturday should be exciting too. Let's get to it!

This article contains my picks for the seven-game main slate on Saturday, July 22, 2023, for both DraftKings and FanDuel, which locks at 7:05 PM ET.

The lineup picks will range from some elite high-priced players to mid-priced options and value plays. I'll give you a few of my top pitching options and then some infielders, outfielders, and teams to stack. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Logan Webb, SF at WSH ($10,600 DK, $10,800 FD)

Logan Webb is the most expensive pitcher on both sites, and it's easy to see why. Webb has been rock-solid this season and has been incredibly masterful of late. In his last three starts, Webb has racked up 28 strikeouts in 22 2/3 innings while only allowing four earned runs. On Saturday, Webb faces the Washington Nationals, who rank 25th in OPS against right-handed pitching. The Nationals also have the seventh-most groundout this season, and Webb has a 60.5% ground ball rate. Webb is a smash play.

Dylan Cease, CWS at MIN ($8,600 DK, $9,400 FD)

Dylan Cease has not been very reliable this season but appears to have turned a corner. Since the beginning of June, Cease has made eight starts, giving up more than three earned runs only once. The 27-year-old has also collected at least six strikeouts in seven of those eight starts. Cease faces the Minnesota Twins on Saturday, and they strike out against right-handed pitching more than any other team. The Twins are coming off a big game against Lance Lynn, but Cease can cool them off.

Others to consider: Reid Detmers ($7,500 DK, $9,000 FD) vs. PIT

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Jose Ramirez - 3B, CLE vs PHI ($5,900 DK, $3,800 FD)

Jose Ramirez has once again been one of baseball's most productive hitters, and the underlying numbers suggest that he should be doing even better, especially in the power department. On Saturday, Ramirez finds himself in a matchup with Phillies starter Zack Wheeler. Wheeler is a tough right-handed pitcher, but Ramirez has been dominant against right-handed pitching this season. Ramirez is slashing .326/.409/.529 with eight of his 14 home runs against right-handed pitchers.

Tony Kemp - 2B, OAK vs. HOU ($3,300 DK, $2,400 FD)

Tony Kemp is facing Astros starter Cristian Javier on Saturday. Kemp has gone 7-for-16 (.438) with three RBI against Javier. On the season, Kemp is slashing .213/.306/.307, but he has picked it up lately. In the last 14 days, Kemp is slashing .360/.484/.520 with nine hits, two doubles, three stolen bases, four walks, and one strikeout. Facing a familiar foe will likely allow Kemp to continue his hot streak.

Dominic Smith - 1B, WSH vs. SF ($2,600 DK, $2,400 FD)

Dominic Smith has a matchup with Logan Webb on Saturday. Typically that would be a bad thing, but Smith has found success against Webb before. Smith has gone 5-for-8 (.625) with two RBI against Webb and could likely add to the hit column in Saturday's contest.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Shohei Ohtani - OF, LAA vs PIT ($6,500 DK, $4,500 FD)

Shohei Ohtani is the most skilled baseball player ever, and it is a treat to root for him because he usually delivers. The Angels phenom leads the majors in home runs, triples, slugging, and OPS. Ohtani is also tied for third in RBI and seventh in scored runs. The bulk pitcher for the Pirates will be right-handed pitcher Osvaldo Bido, who owns a 5.00 ERA and 5.23 xFIP in 27 innings. Ohtani is slashing .320/.410/.703 with 26 home runs against right-handed pitchers. Ohtani is a no-brainer pick.

Andrew Benintendi - OF, CWS at MIN ($3,300 DK, $2,800 FD)

Andrew Benintendi is facing Minnesota Twins starter Sonny Gray on Saturday. Benintendi is 8-for-20 (.400), with one home run and three RBI against Sonny Gray. Gray has also been shaky lately, giving up 11 earned runs in his last two starts. Benintendi sees Gray well, and I'm sure Benintendi will succeed in the opportunities presented to him.

Max Kepler - OF, MIN vs. CWS ($2,600 DK, $2,800 FD)

Max Kepler has some experience facing White Sox starter Dylan Cease, going 6-for-22 (.273) with three home runs and six RBI. Cease has been turning his season around of late, but Kepler is one of the few hitters in the Twins lineup with experience and success against Cease. Kepler should do well in this matchup.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

Atlanta Braves vs. Adrian Houser

The Atlanta Braves have been the best team in baseball against right-handed pitching this season. The Braves are first in home runs and OPS against right-handed pitching in 2023. The Brewers starter Adrian Houser has been serviceable but over-performing his expected stats, owning a 3.79 ERA with a 4.26 xERA and 4.69 xFIP. Houser is in the second percentile in whiff rate while only striking out 15% of hitters and allowing a 43.2% hard-hit rate. The Braves should have a field day.

Also consider: Los Angeles Angels vs. Osvaldo Bido

The Los Angeles Angels should feast in this matchup against young right-handed pitcher Osvaldo Bido. The listed starter for the Pirates appears to be lefty Ryan Borucki, but he should only pitch an inning or so before being relieved by Bido. The Angels are among the best teams against right-handed pitching, ranking third in home runs and fourth in OPS.
