DraftKings Evening CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Daily College Fantasy Football (8/31/24)

Jalen Milroe - College Football Rankings, NCAA CFB DFS Lineup Picks

Mike's DraftKings daily fantasy college football lineup picks for Saturday's Evening Slate (8/31/24). His CFB DFS lineup picks and DFS sleepers will help you win.

Our first big Saturday of college football is here! We have a nice seven-game evening slate to go with the dozen games earlier in the day. It's wall-to-wall college football! If you don't love this, you don't have a pulse! We kick this off with a couple of interesting ones with UNLV heading to Houston and Western Kentucky bound for Tuscaloosa.

Next up is Fresno in the Big House. UCLA heads to Hawaii. We have Notre Dame and A&M with the Irish making one of just two true road games this season. Idaho heads to Eugene for sacrifice at the altar of Oregon. We top this off with Southern Miss in Lexington to take on Kentucky.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 8/31/24, locking at 7 p.m. EDT. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks

Conner Weigman, Texas A&M ($8.3K)

It's easy to forget that Weigman had three strong games before suffering a foot injury against Auburn that ended his season. He put up totals of 31.64 (New Mexico), 31.34 (Miami, FL), and 28.28 (Louisiana-Monroe) in his three full games. Notre Dame's defense is still a strong unit, but given what Weigman did at the beginning of last year, I like this price.

Brock Vandagriff, Kentucky ($6.5K)

Vandagriff kept getting passed by at Georgia, so he became the next high-profile transfer for Kentucky. Kentucky won't be forced into passing situations much in this game, but I still expect to see them let Vandagriff get comfortable in the offense. He should still get plenty of chances for the price.

Donovan Smith, Houston ($5.8K)

UNLV was a good story last year, but their defense was still on the bad side of awful. Smith had some big games last year and feels too cheap in this matchup. UNLV is good enough to keep up in this game and this Houston offense is made to throw the ball around. There's a lot of potential here for the price.

Also consider: Riley Leonard, Notre Dame ($7.8K); Alex Orji, Michigan ($7.3K); Ethan Garbers, UCLA ($6.4K)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs

Donovan Edwards, Michigan ($9K)

Word on the social media streets is that Michigan might be switching quarterbacks tomorrow. That likely means they'll lean on Edwards a little more. Michigan makes it a point not to overuse their backs, but we saw Blake Corum have several productive games even with less than 20 touches. The ceiling isn't all that high on Edwards, but the floor is there.

T.J. Harden, UCLA ($7K)

Hawaii allowed 104 rushing yards to FCS Delaware State last week. What do you think Harden and the UCLA line will do to them? Michigan State transfer Jalen Berger will get some carries as well, but I expect Harden to pick up where he left off in the bowl game against Boise State.

Demie Sumo-Karngbaye, Kentucky ($5.7K)

The Wildcats love to run the ball and projected starter Chip Trayanum is out with a broken hand. Demie is the only other back on the roster with experience. We know he's a good receiver from his days at North Carolina State. What can we get out of him rushing? This is a great matchup to find out!

Also consider: Le'Veon Moss, Texas A&M ($7.2K); Noah Whittington, Oregon ($6.9K); Rodrigues Clark, Southern Mississippi ($6K); Jamarion Wilcox, Kentucky ($4.3K)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers

Ricky White III, UNLV ($7.2K)

There seems to be a quarterback controversy at UNLV as with many other places. Don't mess with trying to pick the quarterbacks. Just trust the receivers. White had 1,491 receiving yards for the Rebels last year despite questionable quarterback play for at least half the year. He's going to have a big game in Houston trying to keep up with the Cougars.

Barion Brown, Kentucky ($6.2K)

With uncertainty in the running back room, the Wildcats could elect to give Brown some carries. He had a dozen rushing attempts last year to go with 43 receptions. The coaching staff wants to get the ball in the hands of Brown however they can. I see him carrying the ball a few times (at least) here, giving him a higher floor than most in his range.

Joseph Manjack IV, Houston ($4.9K)

Manjack was a big part of this offense, scoring at least 7.5 DraftKings points in every game and surpassing double digits in 10 of 12 games. He's a favorite target of Donovan Smith in what should be a pretty close game. Manjack feels really cheap to me.

Also consider: Evan Stewart, Oregon ($7.6K); Kris Mitchell, Notre Dame ($6.9K); Ja'Mori Maclin, Kentucky ($5.9K)

DraftKings CFB Stacks

Houston

The Cougars are affordable against a below-average (at best) defense in what should be a close game. You can stack most of the offense! Smith, Manjack, Parker Jenkins and Stephon Johnson will only run you $20.3K for all four of them!

UCLA

Hawaii has a bad defense and an offense that can score a lot of points. That's a nice recipe for a stack on either side. I trust the UCLA defense too much to run Hawaii at them, but I'll have some UCLA pieces. Garbers is the obvious one. Harden, J. Michael Sturdivant, and Logan Loya are all great options as well, especially Sturdivant for $4.5K.

Also consider: Kentucky, Oregon
