Chicago at Cleveland
This game is a daily fantasy players dream, with both teams having little to no depth. For Cleveland, the suspension of J.R. Smith and injury to Kevin Love have opened up huge minutes for bargain plays Iman Shumpert ($4,100) and Tristan Thompson ($5,000). Shumpert played 38 minutes in the Cavs last game and put up an outstanding 39.5 fantasy points, while Thompson averaged 0.77 fantasy points per minute and led the team with a 21.2% rebounding rate with Love off of the floor this year. Those two along with Kyrie Irving ($8,500) and LeBron James ($11,100) make for great plays tonight.
Meanwhile, Chicago has kept their rotations tight in the postseason with only six players receiving over 100 minutes in their first round series with Milwaukee. Jimmy Butler ($8,700) has played well over 40 minutes per game in the playoffs and put up over 33.5 fantasy points in each game thus far. If James can get Butler into foul trouble, Nikola Mirotic ($3,400) could be a deep sleeper in a GPP with over 19 minutes in three games of round one. Along with those plays, Derrick Rose ($7,400) is still too cheap for his match-up against the less-than-stellar defense of Irving.
Los Angeles at Houston
This game has one giant question mark going into the night with Chris Paul ($9,800) listed as questionable but looking closer to doubtful tonight. If the Clippers star is forced to miss the game, Jamal Crawford ($4,500) and Austin Rivers ($2,200) should be excellent value plays. Both have the capability to hit 10x value. If Paul does in fact sit, DeAndre Jordan ($8,000) could see a massive drop in value, as his offensive game is almost entirely derived from the excellent passing of Chris Paul. Blake Griffin ($10,300) is interesting as he will clearly be the focal point of the Clippers offense, however with no Paul available to help take off the pressure, he could struggle to make value.
For Houston the duo of James Harden ($10,400) and Dwight Howard ($8,400) should continue to be the focus of a well-balanced squad. Harden certainly has one of the highest upsides going tonight, however it is important to note that over his career the Clippers have held him to his lowest point-per-game average of any team in the league. Harden still makes for a great GPP play, but Howard is the better play for cash games, as he is clearly healthy. This is evidenced by his series against Dallas, where he posted over 50 fantasy points in three of the last four games. There are not a ton of value plays from Houston, but Corey Brewer ($4,600) stands out as a solid GPP play, as he posted games of 23.5 and 31.75 fantasy points in two games. That is what he needs to hit value while being low owned.
