MLB DFS Lineup Picks and Sleepers – DraftKings Advice for 6/16/15

RotoBaller Zitong analysis and advice for the top MLB DFS lineup picks on DraftKings for 6/16/15, as well as a couple of sleepers to keep in mind while building your daily fantasy baseball rosters.

As always, my goal with this article is to help you identify viable options to insert into your DraftKings lineups, based on pricing and matchups data. Here are my DFS picks for DraftKings for Tuesday, June 16th.

Offenses to Target for DraftKings Stacking

Washington Nationals LHB vs Alex Colome

The Nationals' left-handed batters have the best offense in the league against right-handed pitching, posting a wRC+ of 147. With guys like Denard Span and Bryce Harper continuing to hit well in this loaded lineup, the Nationals make for a very scary matchup against opposing pitcher Alex Colome. Colome only has one quality start in nine outings this year, and he is also prone to getting blown up offensively. Feel free to load up on some lefties from the lineup, but also be on the lookout for Anthony Rendon and Yunel Escobar to be in an excellent position to score runs.

New York Yankees LHB vs David Phelps

The New York Yankees hold a top ten offense against right-handed pitching as left-handed batters with a wRC+ of 110. They have a nice matchup against opposing pitcher and former teammate David Phelps. Phelps has been inconsistent as of late and holds a 4.11 ERA with a 1.29 WHIP. Phelps’s low strikeout rate spells trouble to come against the power bats in the Yankees lineup. Make sure to take a look at Mark Teixeira for your DraftKings lineup.

 

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for DraftKings

Charlie Morton (Pit, SP) - $7900

Charlie Morton looks like an excellent bargain pick for your primary pitching slot. On the year, Morton holds a 2.05 ERA with a 1.06 WHIP. He has three quality starts in four outings this year, and he should look to continue this success against the Chicago White Sox. The White Sox hold a bottom-five offense against right-handed pitching with a wRC+ of 88. Morton may come back down to earth eventually, but this is a nice matchup at home for Morton, where he has pitched particularly well.

Jose Quintana (CWS, SP) - $8500

Morton’s opponent on Tuesday is Jose Quintana. Quintana also happens to be a great pick as your primary pitcher. Quintana has now posted five quality starts in his last six games. He looks to be really settling in as a great pitching option on DraftKings. Quintana has been able to limit his walks this year, while only giving up one home run in his last nine starts. He should be an excellent option against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Pirates hold a bottom-five offense against left-handed pitching with a wRC+ of 81.

 

DFS Infielders to Consider for DraftKings

Russell Martin (Tor, C) - $4100

Russell Martin has been on fire as of late. He is 16 for his last 25 with three home runs and 10 RBI during that span. The great RBI total can be attributed to the stellar offense of the Blue Jays as a whole. Martin has simply been given a ton of opportunities to drive in runs. Martin is matched up against opposing pitcher Matt Harvey. Harvey has been a bit shaky as of late and doesn’t look to be all that sharp. Look for Martin to capitalize against the struggling ace.

Paul Goldschmidt (Ari, 1B) - $5000

Paul Goldschmidt is having a MVP season. He now holds a .359 average with 17 home runs and 50 RBI. He is also contributing extremely well in runs and stolen bases. Goldschmidt is 10 for his last 16, and he does not look to be slowing down any time soon. His matchup against Garrett Richards should favor Goldschmidt, as Richards has given up a home run in five consecutive starts.

Anthony Rendon (Was, 2B) - $4200

As mentioned earlier, Rendon looks to be a nice pick at the second base position. Due to the lack of depth at the spot, Rendon could very easily provide great value as soon as he shakes off the rust from his DL stint. Rendon has now managed a hit in five consecutive games heading into the week. He should look to build off this good production against Alex Colome. By hitting second in this loaded lineup, Rendon should very easily score a run or two on Tuesday.

Joey Gallo (Tex, 3B) - $3800

Joey Gallo’s ability to hit big league pitching was strongly questioned as he was called up. However, Gallo has produced extremely well and has the Rangers scrambling to figure out how to give him playing time with Adrian Beltre returning. Gallo has home runs in consecutive games heading into the week, and is holding a .300 average with four home runs and seven RBI. He is matched up against opposing pitcher Brett Anderson. Gallo makes for a great value play at his current investment price.

J.J. Hardy (Bal, SS) - $3300

J.J. Hardy looks to be an excellent bargain pick at the shortstop position for Tuesday’s slate of games. He is matched up against opposing pitcher Jerome Williams, whom Hardy has nice career numbers off of. Williams has given up at least eight hits and at least four earned runs in each of his last three starts and owns a 5.71 ERA with a 1.63 WHIP. Hardy offers incredible value at his current price on DraftKings, and you can definitely seek to save some of your investment in this position.

 

DFS Outfielders to Consider for DraftKings

Bryce Harper (Was, OF) - $5500

Bryce Harper continues to hit extremely well. He now holds a .343 average with 21 home runs and 51 RBI. It is always a good call to play Harper against right-handed pitching, as his slugging percentage and home run total have come from dominating right-handed pitchers. Harper should also be in an excellent position to obtain RBI on Tuesday against opposing pitcher Alex Colome.

Leonys Martin (Tex, OF) - $4400

Leonys Martin has actually played surprisingly well as of late. It seemed like he was in danger of losing his starting job earlier this year. However, he has come back strong and now holds a .255 average with four home runs and 21 RBI. Martin’s speed has always been his best asset, but his current position in the Texas lineup should allow for him to have plenty of chances at attaining RBI against opposing pitcher Brett Anderson on Tuesday.

Kevin Pillar (Tor, OF) - $3300

Kevin Pillar continues to be overlooked as an extremely nice bargain pick on DraftKings. He could very well round out your lineup as a cheap pick for your tertiary outfield slot. Pillar has been very hot as of late, and now holds a .251 average with four home runs and 29 RBI. He also steals plenty of bases and scores a lot of runs due to being in this great Toronto lineup.
