DraftKings DFS – MLB Lineup Picks, Sleepers, and Advice for 6/14/15

Zitong's analysis and advice on the top MLB DFS lineup picks on DraftKings for 6/14/15, as well as a couple of sleepers to keep in mind while building your fantasy baseball rosters.

As always, my goal with this article is to help you identify viable options to insert into your DraftKings lineups, based on pricing and matchups data. He's a compilation of players I like when choosing a lineup for Sunday, June 14th.

Editor's Note: If you play on DraftKings, you should check out our Partner FanDuel - they're hosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. It's just $5 to enter and pays out $100,000 in cash prizes, including 10K to 1st place!

Offenses to Target for DraftKings Stacking

Atlanta Braves LHB vs Dillon Gee

The Atlanta Braves have an offense that was heavily looked down upon heading into the year as being one of the best offenses to stream pitchers against. However, they are proving doubters wrong. The Braves now hold a top ten offense against right-handed pitching as left-handed batters with a wRC+ of 111. The Braves match up against Dillon Gee, who has really struggled this year. Gee holds a 4.50 ERA with a 1.50 WHIP. He has also pitched significantly worse against lefties than righties this year. Freddie Freeman looks like a great pick as always. Guys like Jace Peterson and AJ Pierzynski look like excellent value picks as well.

New York Yankees LHB vs Mike Wright

The New York Yankees have had a terrific offense this year. They also haven’t slowed down all that much since losing Jacoby Ellsbury either. The left-handed bats in the Yankees lineup hold a top ten offense against right-handed pitching with a wRC+ of 110. The power bats in the Yankees lineup look like excellent players to target as they face off against Mike Wright. Wright has been recently recalled from the minors. He had given up two home runs in each of his last two games pitched in the majors. Expect Mark Teixeira and Brian McCann to have nice days at the plate.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for DraftKings

AJ Burnett (Pit, SP) - $9500

AJ Burnett looks like a great value pick for your primary pitching slot. His price tag allows for great flexibility for the rest of your lineup. His matchup against the Philadelphia Phillies is extremely nice, and it should be one to capitalize on. The Phillies hold the worst offense in the league against right-handed pitching with a wRC+ of 70. With this in mind, Burnett should dominate the matchup. On the year, Burnett holds a 2.11 ERA with a 1.19 WHIP. His good strikeout rate of 8.22 K per 9 innings only adds to his value.

Lance McCullers (Hou, SP) - $7800

Lance McCullers looks like a promising pick for your secondary pitching slot. McCullers has been dominant since joining the Astros staff and holds a nice 2.32 ERA with a 0.90 WHIP. His most impressive stat is his strikeout rate, as he is striking out more than one batter per inning. His numbers look promising, and his matchup looks favorable as well. McCullers faces off against the Seattle Mariners on Sunday. The Mariners hold a bottom-ten offense against right handed pitching with a WRC+ of 89.

DFS Infielders to Consider for DraftKings

J.T. Realmuto (Mia, C) - $3400

J.T. Realmuto looks like a nice bargain pick for Sunday’s slate of games. Realmuto is the primary catcher for the Miami Marlins. He is getting a day off Saturday, so he should definitely be getting behind the diamond for Sunday. Realmuto has been hitting lefties extremely well this year, holding a .333 average. He is hitting .246 on the year with 3 home runs and 15 RBI. He is also 11 for his last 23 with a home run. Opposing pitcher Jorge De La Rosa, on the other hand, has struggled this year and holds a 5.53 ERA with a 1.45 WHIP.

Miguel Cabrera (Det, 1B) - $4800

Miguel Cabrera has continued his brilliant play this year. He has definitely bounced back to MVP form and is hitting .330 on the year with 13 home runs and 43 RBI. Cabrera is matched up against opposing pitcher Corey Kluber. Even though a matchup against Kluber could be daunting, Cabrera has simply dominated Kluber. Cabrera is a career 18 for 33 with four home runs against the ace.

Howie Kendrick (LAD, 2B) - $3600

Howie Kendrick looks like an excellent bargain pick at second base for Sunday’s slate of games. Kendrick continues to produce, and he heads into this weekend 7 for his last 17. He is also hitting .294 on the year with six home runs and 28 RBI. Kendrick has dominated opposing pitcher James Shields in his career. Kendrick is a lifetime 16 for 32 with a home run against Shields.

Manny Machado (Bal, 3B) - $4500

Manny Machado has really lived up to the hype this year, and has been producing incredibly well as of late. He is 11 for his last 25. Machado is in an excellent position to produce runs sitting atop the Orioles lineup. With guys like Chris Davis and Adam Jones heating up, Machado has been scoring a lot of runs to add to his value. Machado has also had some great success off opposing pitcher Adam Warren, so definitely look to put him in your lineup.

Troy Tulowitzki (Col, SS) - $5400

Troy Tulowitzki will always be an excellent pick at shortstop as long as you’ve managed to find some bargains in your other positions. Tulowitzki continues his career storyline. He will produce extremely well as long as he is healthy. Tulowitzki is hitting .308 on the year with seven home runs and 32 RBI. Tulowitzki is a career 11 for 37 with three home runs against opposing pitcher Dan Haren. Despite this matchup on the road, Tulowitzki should definitely be worth his price tag on DraftKings.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for DraftKings

Giancarlo Stanton (Mia, OF) - $5600

Giancarlo Stanton’s price tag on DraftKings has really skyrocketed since the beginning of his hot streak. However, he continues to produce extremely well and should definitely be worth his price tag on Sunday. Stanton is 10 for his last 19 with four home runs heading into this weekend and facing opposing pitcher Jorge De La Rosa. As mentioned earlier, De La Rosa has struggled this year. Stanton on the other hand holds a .295 average against left-handed pitching and holds 22 home runs and 55 RBI on the year.

Carlos Gonzalez (Col, OF) - $4200

Carlos Gonzalez struggled early on in the year but has really picked up his play as of late. Gonzalez holds a .349 average with three home runs in the month of June, and seems to be heating up now that his rough April and May are behind him. Gonzalez has also dominated his career matchup against opposing pitcher Dan Haren. Gonzalez is a lifetime 9 for 23 with four home runs against Haren. With this in mind, Gonzalez should make for an excellent pick as your secondary outfielder.

Alex Gordon (KC, OF) - $3900

Alex Gordon looks like a nice value pick for your tertiary outfield slot. On the year, Gordon is hitting .258 with seven home runs and 28 RBI. Gordon is matched up against opposing pitcher John Lackey. Gordon has had nice career numbers off of Lackey. Lackey has also been hit hard by lefties this year. His struggles against lefties are also compounded by his struggles in his recent outings. In both of his last two starts, Lackey has given up double digit hits.
