DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (3/6/20): NBA DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on March 6, 2020. Jesse Borek provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

In the wake of a smaller slate Thursday night, DFS hoops gets back into the deep waters Friday with a 10-game slate that is emblematic of how many evenings will go over the final month-plus.

The theme Friday is points. There are three contests on the early lines that are projected for at least 235 points, giving owners blanket contests to target when in doubt as to how to fill out lineups. The game likeliest to draw a vast amount of DFS attention comes between the Hawks and Wizards, which as of early Friday morning, checked in with a projected total of 245.5 points. The league’s two most porous defensive units are likely to try outscoring one another, as opposed to locking down on the defensive end. When in doubt, snag players from that contest in the hopes of an epic offensive collision.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 3/6/20. You can also check out today's FanDuel lineup picks. Remember to monitor injury news as the slate can completely change before line-up lock.

DraftKings DFS Guards

Seth Curry - SG, DAL v. MEM ($5,700)

With the duo of Luka Doncic (illness) and Tim Hardaway Jr. (shoulder) both tagged as questionable as of the time of this writing, Curry’s DFS value could be in line to increase even further. While brother Stephen Curry’s return took the league by storm Thursday night, it’s been Seth who has been scorching hot as of late, having shot 17-for-25 from behind the arc over his last three games, all of which have seen him score at least 21 points. Gone are the days of the Grizzlies as an elite defensive unit, as they have been susceptible to high-octane scoring performances from opposing guards this season. Curry enters the upper echelon of ownership should Doncic eventually be ruled out.

Aaron Holiday - PG/SG, IND @ CHI ($4,000)
T.J. McConnell - PG, IND @ CHI ($4,000)

It appears that starting point guard Malcolm Brogdon (hip) is on track to miss Friday’s game versus the Bulls, which would allow Holiday and McConnell to see increased roles. How head coach Nate McMillan allocates duties in Brogdon’s absence remains to be seen, but with the two guards sharing the same price tag, choosing between the two becomes a matter of preference. Holiday is the more offensive-minded of the duo, as he could also wind up snagging minutes at the off-guard spot alongside McConnell. But in his three starts this year, McConnell has bumped his averages up to 7.7 points and 6.7 assists per game, which would give him an excellent chance at hitting value.

DraftKings DFS Forwards

Danilo Gallinari - SF/PF, OKC @ NY ($6,100)

Gallinari enters play Friday as just one of 11 players in the league to average at least three made triples per contest. He has been especially efficient from long range as of late, having averaged four made threes over his last four games, shooting 45.7 percent from deep in that span. Put simply, Gallinari’s DFS value is intrinsically tied to his marksmanship; when clicking on all cylinders, he is a strong candidate to exceed his value, although he has rarely deviated into an elite rebounding performance. He is a superior selection as a mid-priced cash play, but could hold value across the slate depending on the health status of many others in his salary range.

Davis Bertans - PF, WAS v. ATL ($5,600)

Bertans has been shooting the ball at will from deep over his last five games and there’s little reason to believe that would take a step backward when facing a Hawks defense yielding the second-most points per game (119.2) this year. At 3.6 makes from behind the arc on a nightly basis, Bertans ranks fourth in the league, even as he comes off the bench. His ceiling will be largely determined by his ability to corral rebounds and contribute across the rest of the stat sheet, but his price tag won’t break the bank and he remains a perpetual scoring threat every time the ball is in his hands.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Hassan Whiteside - C, POR @ PHO ($9,100)

The last time that Whiteside faced the Suns, he compiled 22 rebounds en route to a monster double-double. That came with Phoenix center Deandre Ayton (ankle) active, and with his current status extremely unlikely that he suits up, it should be open season on the boards for Whiteside. Portland’s big man enters Friday’s contest on an 11-game double-double streak, and while his price tag remains high, he could present the best value in a highly competitive center bunch.

Myles Turner - C, IND @ CHI ($5,200)

Turner has been anything but a consistent fantasy commodity this season, which makes his current hot streak all the more intriguing. He has reeled off multiple blocked shots in each of his last five games, and while that remains a finicky statistic to predict on a nightly basis, his matchup against the Bulls and their second-worst opposing center defense (55 DK points per game) presents him as a potential above-average selection. In his only other prior meeting with Chicago this season, Turner set season highs with 27 points and 14 rebounds.
