DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (3/1/20): NBA DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on March 1, 2020. Dan Palyo provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

Welcome back to RotoBaller, your source for all things fantasy sports! After a high-scoring slate that was jam-packed full of studs last night, we have only four games on today's NBA DFS main slate on Draftkings tonight and significantly less star power. The main slate locks at 6:00 and for those of you grinding NBA DFS like I am every day, I have my favorite combination of value plays and high-priced studs to help you get your lineups started.

We don't have all that much injury info to monitor today, but the status of Draymond Green, Serge Ibaka, Fred Vanvleet, De'Aaron Fox, Christian Wood, Jordan Poole, Paul Millsap, and Thon Maker will be really important as all of those players are currently questionable as of this morning. The amount of value that is already available and the fact there could even be more value that opens up with those situations makes me lean towards and "stars and scrubs" style of roster construction tonight.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 3/1/20. You can also check out today's FanDuel lineup picks. Find me on Twitter @ThunderDanDFS where I am usually tweeting about fantasy sports and DFS. Remember to monitor injury news as the slate can completely change before line-up lock.

DraftKings DFS Guards

Derrick Rose - PG, DET @ SAC ($6,600)

This Detroit-Sacramento game interests me more than it normally would on a bigger slate. We have two lousy teams meeting up in this one and both teams are short-handed, with Sacramento potentially very short-handed if Fox misses. Rose is the last man standing for the Pistons, who traded away Andre Drummond, released Reggie Jackson, and lost Blake Griffin for the season. He played thirty minutes on Friday night and scored thirty-one actual points on his way to 45.8 Draftkings points. The ball is going to be in his hands and he's simply going to have to carry the Detroit offense, especially if Christian Wood misses this game tonight, too.

Brandon Knight - PG/SG, DET @ SAC ($4,100)

Are there two Pistons guards in the same article? Yes, it's that type of slate tonight. All kidding aside, Knight has been excellent since coming over from Cleveland at the deadline and has stepped up in a big way during the absence of Bruce Brown. He's scored 23, 28, and 31 DK points in his last three games and has been the Pistons best bench player by far. Rolling him and Rose together is fine, especially with Knight's shooting guard eligibility and the fact that he and Rose will have minutes staggered with one of them on the floor at all times.

Bradley Beal -  SG, WAS @ Golden State ($10,400)

Do I wanna pay over 10k for Bradley Beal? Yes, I do. I simply can't fade this hot streak he's on and the incredible volume of shots he's taking right now just gives him an incredible floor/ceiling combination. Over his last four games,  Beal has a 40% usage rate! That's peak James Harden territory and simply not something I want to fade against a bad Warriors team that just played last night. Lock and load Beal in all formats, he's worth his price until we see something change with role or minutes.

DraftKings DFS Forwards

Dragan Bender - PF/C, GS @ WAS ($3,700)

Little did I know that I would have to write up Dragan Bender this season. He's bounced around the league after once being regarded a solid prospect and has finally resurfaced with Golden State since they simply need live bodies at this point in their tank (I mean "rebuild," sorry). Anyway, Bender played 31 minutes last night with the Warriors only having eight healthy players and poured in 13 points, nine boards, four assists, and three blocks which was good for 38 DK points. If we see Draymond miss again, Bender becomes a lock for me but even if Dray plays then I think he will still see solid minutes in this plus matchup against the Wizards.

Anthony Davis - PF, LAL @ NO ($9,900)

Davis faces his old team for the fourth time tonight. Over the first three meetings, he's averaged 36 points and 12 rebounds with five (yes five!) steals/blocks. The Lakers are coming off a major dud last night as they were handled by the Grizzlies, but I expect them to bounce back here on the road against the Pelicans and Davis will assuredly be fired up going against his old team in New Orleans. The Lakers get a nice bump in pace here and Davis has an excellent matchup against the undersized Pelicans frontcourt. The fact that he is under 10k today is silly, and therefore I am making it a priority to smash him and Beal into the majority of my lineups.

Jerami Grant - PF, DEN vs. TOR ($4,500)

Grant is one of my favorite DFS players to roster when he's getting minutes and he's played 29 minutes in back-to-back games. With Paul Millsap questionable tonight, I am eyeing Grant for value at the forward position. In those last two games, his fantasy upside has been on full display as he's posted 37 and 34 DK points. His ability to knock down open three-pointers, rebound, and block shots makes him a really awesome DFS asset and this price is much too cheap for him if we think his minutes' increase is going to continue.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Harry Giles - C, SAC vs. DET ($5,600)

Giles was featured by me on Friday night in my FanDuel picks and came through with another solid performance. He continues to post great numbers for the Kings and has seen steady minutes for them since the all-star break with Marvin Bagley Jr. and Richaun Holmes on the shelf. Detroit is a total disaster on defense and could be without Christian Wood and/or Thon Maker tonight. The Pistons already get hammered by rebounders and that could be compounded if they are without some of their bigs tonight. I expect Giles to get his tonight and perhaps take on even more usage if De'Aaron Fox were to miss this one.
