Derek Carr is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for quarterbacks. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 16 of the 2023 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: The Derek Carr era in Las Vegas came to a heartbreaking end, as he was benched down the stretch for Jarrett Stidham, a QB who the Raiders didn't even re-sign in the offseason. Things didn't look too good in his first few games in New Orleans either.
From Week 1 to Week 7, Carr threw for six touchdowns and four interceptions with an 82.8 passer rating. Many fans began to ridicule the Saints for their decision to spend big on Carr, but since then, the four-time Pro Bowler has quietly turned things around.

In his last seven games, Carr has thrown for 10 touchdowns compared to just three picks. This has led to him having a sparkling 105.2 passer rating, which is a marginal improvement over his 86.3 passer rating last season.
Now, Carr has to focus and lead the Saints to the playoffs to justify his massive price tag. He will face off against the Rams (21st in passing defense), the Buccaneers (31st in passing defense), and the Falcons (eighth in passing defense). If Carr is serious about his redemption arc, then he has to play well in at least two out of these three games, which would make him a great option in 2QB leagues.
