Daily Fantasy Baseball Streamers - MLB Lineup and Pitching Picks for Tuesday 7/28

Top daily fantasy baseball streamers and waiver wire adds for 2020 fantasy baseball on 7/28/20. Frank Ammirante identifies hitters and starting pitchers (SP) to stream based on matchups for shallow and deep leagues.

It's Tuesday, so you know what that means: back to a full slate of baseball! Let's attack these games and target some streamer hitters and pitchers!

In today's article, we have a versatile Dodger infielder, an outfielder in a stacked lineup, and another outfielder with some power-speed upside. We also have an intriguing pitcher on a new team, a top prospect entering his sophomore season, and a promising White Sox hurler!

When choosing my daily hitter streamers, I examine their platoon splits, lineup position, and pitching matchup. With pitchers, I account for the opposing lineup, team ballpark, and recent performance to help make my decision. Each of my streamers will be rostered in between 0-40% of Yahoo leagues, with a mixed focus on both shallow and deeper formats. Let’s take a look at the Monday slate and dig out some streamer gems to help you start the week off on the right track.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Hitter Streamers for 7/28

Chris Taylor (2B/SS/OF, LAD, RHB) - 36% Rostered

Matchup: vs. HOU LHP Framber Valdez

Chris Taylor is coming off a decent season where he slashed .262/.333/.462 with 12 HR and eight SB in 414 PA. The versatile infielder does well against left-handed pitching, putting up .255/.342/.518 with seven of his 12 HR against southpaws. He goes up against Framber Valdez, a 26-year-old lefty who struggled last season, posting a 5.86 ERA, and 1.67 WHIP in 70.2 IP. Valdez can miss bats, but he really struggles with control - 13.4 BB% in 2019. The stacked Dodgers’ lineup should be able to get to Valdez, which will provide some opportunity for Taylor to put up some numbers in this game.

Teoscar Hernandez (OF, TOR, RHB) - 11% Rostered

Matchup: vs. WAS RHP Austin Voth

Teoscar Hernandez is a streaky hitter who's starting to get on a roll right now. He's coming off a 2-5, 2 HR game, giving him back to back multi-hit performances. If Bo Bichette misses another game, Hernandez will once again be in the leadoff spot. He goes up againsty righty Austin Voth, a guy who has potential but is unlikely to pitch deep. Fire up Teoscar.

Domingo Santana (OF, CLE, RHB) 7% Rostered

Matchup: vs. CHW LHP Carlos Rodon

Domingo Santana has always been an intriguing sleeper hitter due to his power and speed profile. He takes on lefty Carlos Rodon, a former top prospect who was limited to only 34.2 IP last season. While Rodon has potential, we need to see him prove that he’s healthy on the mound. For that reason, we’ll try to exploit this matchup. Santana performs better against lefties, slugging .475 against them in 2019, so he’ll have a chance to produce against Rodon.

Pitcher Streamers for 7/28

Kyle Gibson (RHP, TEX) vs. ARI 8% Rostered

Kyle Gibson joins a Texas Rangers team that has had recent success in unlocking more potential out of their veteran pitchers, namely Lance Lynn and Mike Minor. Gibson is similar to those two hurlers in that he has shown upside at times, but has struggled to find consistency. Gibson increased his swinging-strike rate from 11.5% to 13.1% last year, so this is definitely an intriguing pitcher. He takes on a good D-Backs lineup, but the new stadium in Texas is playing like a pitcher’s park, so we’ll roll with Gibson.

Justus Sheffield (LHP, SEA) - 6% Rostered

Justus Sheffield struggled as a rookie, posting a 5.50 ERA, 1.72 WHIP, and 11.3 K-BB% in 36 IP. However, this is a former top prospect - the jewel of the James Paxton trade - who has looked good in camp. Sheffield dominated in his final intrasquad game, striking out eight hitters in four perfect innings. It’s exciting to see the young lefty show some sharp control, especially since that was a weakness for him - 10.7 BB% as a rookie. He takes on an Angels’ lineup that doesn’t really scare me. Fire up Justus.

Dylan Cease (RHP, CHW) - 21% Rostered

Dylan Cease struggled as a rookie, putting up a 5.79 ERA, and 1.55 WHIP in 73 IP, but there are reasons for optimism. Cease has a nice changeup (.180 xwOBA, 3.5 pitchVAL) and wipe-out slider (.232 xwOBA, 3.2 pitchVAL), as well as a four-seamer that averages 96.5 MPH. Reports out of camp are positive - he struck out eight hitters in his last intrasquad game. Cease takes on a good Indians' lineup, but I like his pitching arsenal, so I'm betting on Cease here.
