Curtis Samuel fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 2 (2024). Should you start or sit Curtis Samuel for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start in Deeper Leagues Only
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR5
ANALYSIS: It was a rough first week for Buffalo Bills wide receiver Curtis Samuel. He caught just two passes for 15 yards while seeing two targets in the game. Samuel also only played 27% of the team's offensive snaps, which was behind Keon Coleman (73%), Khalil Shakir (53%), and Mack Hollins (58%) against the Arizona Cardinals.
It was quite a surprise to see Samuel play only 17 snaps to open the season, but he was possibly limited in the contest. Despite practicing in full all week, the 28-year-old has been battling a turf toe injury for the past couple of weeks. With him missing multiple practices due to that injury, the Bills could have decided to put him on a snap count in Week 1.
Bills WR routes and targets Week 1:
Keon Coleman: 90% routes, 22% targets 👀
Khalil Shakir: 70%, 12%
Mack Hollins: 67%, 9%
Curtis Samuel: 30%, 9%— Dwain McFarland (@dwainmcfarland) September 8, 2024
Still, he's too risky to start in fantasy in Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins. If his limited snaps are because of that toe injury, Buffalo could continue to limit his snaps, especially in a short week. So, Samuel should only be started in deeper leagues on Thursday.
