Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller

5043 articles

You won't find a bigger Cubs fan than myself. Aside from my love of fantasy sports, which includes MLB, NFL and NBA, I own my own animal care business. I graduated from Columbia College in Chicago and currently reside in Chicago, IL. My love of fantasy sports started for me in the early 2000's and I have steadily been active with the same group of friends year in and year out for every league in baseball, basketball and football. I am hoping to help all RotoBaller members with any questions they may have. I consider myself an expert with minor league prospects, as it is a love of mine. I hope to give the best advice I can to the RotoBaller world!

Eloy Jimenez Exits With Injury

Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez has left Tuesday’s game early. The rookie appeared to hurt his right shoulder after a collision with Charlie Tilson. Jimenez did not record an at-bat in tonight’s game and Ryan Cordell has replaced him. More should be know on the status of Jimenez as the evening goes on.

Willson Contreras Remains Sidelined With Sore Foot

Chicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras (foot) will miss his second consecutive game on Monday versus the Reds. Contreras has been dealing with a sore right foot and is currently day-to-day. Victor Caratini will be behind the dish on Monday and bat fifth in a tough matchup versus Luis Castillo.

Willson Contreras Has A Sore Right Foot

Chicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras (foot) is dealing with a sore right foot in his arch area. This would explain why the All-Star exited Saturday’s game early and will rest Sunday. Contreras is day-to-day at the moment. Victor Caratini will start in his place on Sunday and bat fifth.

Willson Contreras Will Sit Series Finale

Chicago Cubs All-Star catcher Willson Contreras will sit for the second time in three games on Sunday. Manager Joe Maddon has been resting Contreras more and more as the season has gone on, but he still remains one of the best catchers in the game. Victor Caratini will bat fifth and start at catcher versus […]

Jason Heyward Plays Hero Versus Pirates

Chicago Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward went 2-for-4 and hit a game-winning RBI single versus the Pirates on Friday. Heyward has hit a respectable .270 with 14 home runs and 38 RBI in 2019, but he doesn’t offer much outside of NL-only and deeper mixed leagues.

Kris Bryant Goes Yard Versus Pirates

Chicago Cubs third baseman/outfielder Kris Bryant went 1-for-3 with a walk, home run and two runs scored on Friday versus the Pirates. Bryant was an All-Star this year and has had a nice rebound year in 2019. The former MVP is now hitting .297 with 18 home runs and 45 RBI.

Yu Darvish Shines Versus Pirates

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Yu Darvish put together one of his best starts as a Cub on Friday versus the Pittsburgh Pirates. Over six strong innings, Darvish allowed two hits, zero runs, one walk and struck out eight batters. Darvish received another no-decision, but this was a very positive outing for him. Darvish will look […]

Cole Hamels To Begin Throwing Program

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Cole Hamels (oblique) will begin his throwing program on Friday. The lefty will throw off flat ground as he works his way back from an oblique injury. Hamels had a strong first half and posted a 6-3 record with a 2.98 ERA. The Cubs will look at either Tyler Chatwood or […]

Willson Contreras Absent To Start The Second Half

Chicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras will sit to start the second half of the season on Friday. Contreras was an All-Star, but manager Joe Maddon has been playing Victor Caratini a lot more over the past six weeks. Caratini will bat fifth versus Pirates starter Chris Archer and isn’t a bad dart throw for a […]

MacKenzie Gore To Be Promoted To Double-A

The San Diego Padres will promote prized pitching prospect MacKenzie Gore to Double-A Amarillo. Gore, 20, has excelled for High-A Lake Elsinore. The lefty owns a 7-1 record to go along with a 1.02 ERA and 110 strikeouts over 79 1/3 innings. It’s unlikely that Gore will be promoted in 2019, but he is a […]

Lucas Giolito Walks Five Batters

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Lucas Giolito struggled on Saturday versus the Chicago Cubs. Giolito was unable to record an out in the top of the fifth inning and finished with a line of four hits, six runs, five walks and struck out five over four innings. The lefty has been hit or miss this season on the bump, but still owns a healthy 3.72 ERA heading into the All-Star break. Lester is worth […]

Craig Kimbrel Picks Up Second Save

Chicago Cubs closer Craig Kimbrel picked up his second save of the season on Saturday versus the Chicago White Sox. Luis Robert To Be Promoted To Triple-A

Chicago White Sox outfield prospect Luis Robert will be promoted to Triple-A Charlotte to start the second half of the season. Craig Kimbrel Blows His First Save

Chicago Cubs closer Craig Kimbrel blew his first game of the season Wednesday versus the Pirates. Victor Caratini Goes Yard Twice

Chicago Cubs catcher Victor Caratini went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a pair of home runs on Wednesday versus the Pirates.
