DraftKings CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Daily Fantasy College Football (10/28/21)

Mike Marteny's DraftKings daily fantasy college football lineup picks for 10/28/21. His CFB DFS lineup picks and DFS sleepers will help you win big.

We are back down to two college football games on Thursday and Friday this week. That's a bit disappointing after the larger slates last week, but we still have some good plays on this slate. Let's see what we have to work with.

Both games start at 7:30 pm Eastern tonight. We have the beloved Chanticleers hosting Troy after dropping a shocker to Appalachian State last week. East Carolina, fresh off a close loss to Houston, hosts a suddenly dangerous South Florida team that has become great for DFS. Will that continue? Let's jump in!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 10/28/21 locking at 7:30 pm eastern. I’ll be providing multiple player suggestions for players at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option apiece at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Quarterbacks

Grayson McCall, Coastal Carolina ($9,000)

Troy's defense has been really good this year. The run defense is one of the best in the country, but the pass defense has looked good too. Troy has yet to allow a 300-yard passer and they have picked off a staggering 12 passes already! That's not going to happen with McCall back there. He hasn't thrown an interception since September 18. That was the only interception he has thrown all year. Ahlers is going to have a tougher time against South Florida, and I just trust McCall. He didn't make a mistake against a good Appalachian State defense last week. I'll trust that he doesn't make one here either and makes plays in the passing game to make up for Troy's superb run defense.

Timmy McClain, South Florida ($5,700)

The freshman came up with a bum ankle after the win over Temple. The Bulls still expect him to play this week even though they have purposely limited him in practice. If that ankle isn't at 100%, it limits his good rushing ability, which has been his secret weapon in DFS. Even though McClain hasn't thrown more than one touchdown in a game, he also hasn't thrown an interception since week 1 against North Carolina State. McClain is another safe option on a night when the goal of our quarterback is to not hurt our fantasy team.

Also consider: Holton Ahlers, East Carolina ($8,700); Gunnar Watson, Troy ($5,200)

DraftKings CFB DFS Running Backs

Kimani Vidal, Troy ($6,500)

CCU has allowed more than 170 rushing yards four times in seven games. That's a problem. That was why they lost to Appalachian State (228 rushing yards, 5.56 yards per carry). It's also why Vidal has sneaky value. Most will flock to the CCU backs, but Troy has not allowed any team more than 4.0 yards per carry this year. Only two opponents have broken 3.0 yards per carry! Vidal doesn't have the highest ceiling on the slate, but I think his floor is the highest.

Jaren Mangham, South Florida ($6,300)

ECU's run defense has improved since the beginning of the year, but that's not to say teams can't run on them. USF is a team built to run and they only pass out of necessity. Mangham wont have the game that he has last week against Temple, but he should flirt with 100 rushing yards again and at least one touchdown seems likely. Mangham has had at least touchdown in every game since Week 1, and Tulsa was the only team to keep him out of the end zone twice. He gets those coveted goal-line carries.

Rahjai Harris, East Carolina ($4,200)

Harris is the better receiver of the ECU backs, but he also has 44 carries over the last three games. He's getting a fair share of work at a very discounted price. The Bulls' run defense has also improved, but the only team they have held under 100 rushing yards is Temple. Tulsa, Florida, and North Carolina State all gouged them for over 250 yards. I'm not saying ECU can run like all of those teams, but if Florida A&M can put up 132 on the ground against them, ECU has the potential for a good day on the ground.

Also consider: Shermari Jones, Coastal Carolina ($7,000); Keaton Mitchell, East Carolina ($6,100); Reese White, Coastal Carolina ($5,000); Kelley Joiner, South Florida ($4,000)

DraftKings CFB DFS Wide Receivers

Jaivon Heiligh, Coastal Carolina ($7,300)

Wide receiver is going to make or break this slate. I have a feeling that this may be an Isaiah Likely game, but for cash games I have to go with Heiligh. He's the most consistent of the CCU receivers. Likely is much more hit-and-miss. If Heiligh could get back into the end zone for the first time since Week 4 against UMass, he would easily pay off this price. I think that's likely here.

Tyler Snead, East Carolina ($5,900)

Speaking of consistency, Snead has at least four receptions in every game this season. The Pirates have even given him a few carries out of the backfield to try and get the ball in his hands more. Snead is the guy that Ahlers looks to first. USF is going to have some problems with the ECU receivers and Snead in particular. The price break from the CCU receivers is welcome on this slate. Snead might be my favorite wideout on the slate anyway.

Audie Omotosho, East Carolina ($4,300)

Omotosho has scored a touchdown in each of the last two games and has 15 receptions over the last four games after a slow start to the season. Ahlers will spread the ball around quite a bit, so it is worth noting when one of the receivers consistently catches around four passes a game. Omotosho is a bit touchdown-dependent since he hasn't gone over 100 receiving yards in a game this year, but for this price, he's worth the risk.

Jimmy Horn Jr., South Florida ($3,900)

Horn might be the fastest player on this entire slate. The Bulls have started getting the ball to Horn on shorter passing plays and letting him see what he can do with it. He's a boom-or-bust player – Horn was held scoreless against both Tulsa and BYU – but he had 12 receptions between the Temple and Tulsa games. Some consistency would be nice, but Horn is exactly the kind of GPP dart we are looking for on a slate like this.

Also consider: Isaiah Likely, Coastal Carolina ($7,700); Tez Johnson, Troy ($5,500); Xavier Weaver, South Florida ($4,800); Ryan Jones, East Carolina ($4,000)
