The NASCAR Cup Series ran a single practice session at Michigan International Speedway on Saturday evening in preparation for the upcoming FireKeepers Casino 400 on Sunday afternoon.
The 37-car field was split into two groups for practice.
Below you will find the two groups, key notes from the practice session, as well as the practice speeds for all drivers.
Important Practice Notes
Denny Hamlin - About halfway through the session, Denny Hamlin got a flat tire on his No. 11 Toyota, which brought out the caution. The underbody got damaged because of the flat and Hamlin will have to start from the rear of the field on Sunday.
#NASCAR ... Denny Hamlin wins the pole but he will start at the back of the field because of damage to the underbody of the car after having a flat tire in practice. Hamlin says the team will make repairs and have to go to the rear.

Austin Cindric - About 10 minutes into practice, the No. 2 Ford had a flat tire, which brought out the caution. Cindric did not seem to have any major damage from the flat.
Christopher Bell - Just like Hamlin and Cindric, Christopher Bell was also the victim of a flat tire during practice. There was some concern about the No. 20 Toyota having underbody damage like Hamlin's No. 11 Toyota, but nothing has been confirmed with Bell.
