St. Louis Cardinals current bench coach Oliver Marmol is expected to be named the 51st manager in Cardinals history on Monday, according to a source. At just 35 years old, Marmol would become the youngest manager in the majors. Former manager Mike Shildt was dismissed from his position on Oct. 14 due to "philosophical differences" between him and the front office. Current first base coach Stubby Clapp and San Diego Padres associate manager Skip Schumaker were other options for the Cardinals managerial vacancy. Marmol, a sixth-round pick by the Cardinals in 2007, has been groomed for years in St. Louis' system. He doesn't have any MLB managerial experience, but he has managed the team's Low-A affiliate.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
