DraftKings CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Daily Fantasy College Football (10/9/21 Primetime)

Mike Marteny's DraftKings daily fantasy college football lineup picks for the prime time slate on 10/9/21. His CFB DFS lineup picks and DFS sleepers will help you win big.

We are back up to eight games for our Saturday prime time college football slate on DraftKings. We start off with some MACtion with Buffalo heading down to Ohio to take on Kent. TCU heads west to Lubbock to take on Texas Tech. Wyoming heads down I-25 to Colorado Springs.

A half-hour later, LSU will be in Lexington to take on a dangerous Kentucky team. Notre Dame heads to Blacksburg for a night game that somehow went from NBC to the ACC Network. How did the Irish let that happen? Michigan is down in Lincoln to take on Nebraska. We close off the evening slate with Aladamnbama heading to College Station. Utah heads from the mountains to the coast to take on USC at the Coliseum. This is going to be another fun one!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup primetime picks for DraftKings on 10/9/21, locking at 7 pm eastern. I’ll be providing multiple player suggestions for players at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option apiece at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Quarterbacks

Bryce Young, Alabama ($9,200)

There's always a chance that Alabama employs the same game plan that they did against Ole Miss. The Tide ran 50 times in that game, which left Young as a conduit between the center and running back and not much else. Young still had good numbers when he did throw, but it wasn't much or often. The fact is that quarterback is a very weak position despite having eight games going on. Young is the only one guaranteed not to hurt you.

Dustin Crum, Kent State ($6,800)

Buffalo's defense isn't quite as good as they were last year. A dual threat quarterback named Adrian Martinez did quite a number on that Buffalo defense a few weeks ago. Crum is like Martinez in some ways. He's a much better passer, but he doesn't run as well. Still, Crum has over 60 rushing yards in three of the five games so far this year. Add that to his solid-but-unspectacular passing numbers, and you have a guy with good potential in this price range.

Cade McNamara, Michigan ($6,500)

Wisconsin shut down the Michigan run game for the most part last weekend. That led to the best game of McNamara's career so far. He threw for 197 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and most importantly, no turnovers. In fact, McNamara has yet to throw an interception this year. The Nebraska defense does a great job against the run as well, so this game is on the shoulders of McNamara again. I expect another solid stat line out of him, but don't expect him to break the slate.

Cameron Rising, Utah ($5,300)

Anyone scared of the USC defense? Didn't think so. Utah is likely going to be playing from behind in this one, which could force Rising to take a few more shots than he did in his first start against Washington State. Rising was good in that game, but still didn't account for any touchdowns. That could be the case again, but his price is so low that it seems foolish to completely ignore the fact that he could put together 20 DraftKings points. There's good potential here.

Also consider: Max Johnson, LSU ($8,000); Henry Colombi, Texas Tech ($6,900); Will Levis, Kentucky ($6,600); Kyle Vantrease, Buffalo ($5,800)

DraftKings CFB DFS Running Backs

Zach Evans, TCU ($8,400)

Evans has racked up 85.1 DraftKings points over the last three games against Cal, Texas, and SMU. None are great defenses, but they are good enough. Texas Tech allowed well over 300 rushing yards to Texas, but TCU's line isn't as good as Texas. There should be some in between here in which Evans will find himself his fourth consecutive 100-yard game. He'll also catch a couple of passes out of the backfield, further increasing his value.

Chris Rodriguez Jr., Kentucky ($6,800)

Every FBS team that LSU has faced has run for over 100 yards on them. That's not to say that the LSU defense has been bad against the run. It just says that they aren't as good as they were a couple of years ago. This Kentucky line is still built to run and they do it well. Rodriguez fell just one yard short of the century mark against Florida last weekend. He should go back over it in style against LSU.

Marquez Cooper, Kent State ($6,300)

Every FBS team that Buffalo has faced has at least 175 rushing yards on them. Three of those teams topped 200 yards. The opener against Wagner is hiding just how poorly Buffalo's run defense has fared. Cooper ran over Bowling Green for 120 yards and a pair of touchdowns last week. Despite his quarterback running as well, Cooper notched 31 carries. Expect more of the same against Buffalo. Cooper could be in for a big game here.

TJ Pledger, Utah ($5,000)

This depends on the status of Micah Bernard. If Bernard plays, he will likely start and should be used in place of Pledger. Utah's defense is good enough for them not to get buried in this game. That should allow the Utes to run their offense as normal. That means plenty of work for the Oklahoma transfer if Bernard is out. Pledger topped 100 yards after Bernard left the Washington State game. There is potential here if Bernard is forced to miss this game.

Also consider: Xazavian Valladay, Wyoming ($7,000); Kevin Marks Jr., Buffalo ($5,900); Sa'Rodorick Thompson, Texas Tech ($5,700); Devon Achane, Texas A&M ($4,800)

DraftKings CFB DFS Wide Receivers

Drake London, USC ($9,000)

London is averaging 30.2 DraftKings points per game. He is the definition of set and forget. Lock him in and build around him. No one else in the country has a target share like London does.

Wan'Dale Robinson, Kentucky ($7,300)

Kentucky's recent battles with tougher defense have hurt his stat lines some, but the got still got 16.5 DraftKings points against Florida. I'm not scared of him not coming up big against LSU, especially with Josh Ali out. Robinson may not flirt with 30, but he should be at or near 20 DraftKings points. He's a nice consolation prize if you can't afford London or in a Kentucky stack.

Quian Williams, Buffalo ($6,000)

Coastal Carolina was the only team able to take Williams out of Buffalo's game plan. He has 23 receptions for 346 yards and a touchdown in the other three games against FBS schools. The one touchdown limits Williams' value –Buffalo would rather run it in from close and Williams isn't a burner – but the receptions are still going to be there. Only one other Buffalo receiver has double digit receptions (Dominic Johnson with 16). He has a nice floor and good potential for the price.

Isaiah Epps, Kentucky ($3,500)

With Josh Ali out, Epps should step into the starting role opposite Robinson. The Wildcats don't run a lot of three WR sets, so the extra time on the field should be valuable for Epps. I'm not sure that I would use both Kentucky receivers since they will likely run more than they throw, but I do like the value on Epps in lineups in which I don't pay up for Robinson.

Also consider: Kayshon Boutte, LSU ($7,800); Jameson Williams, Alabama ($7,100); Michael Mayer, Notre Dame ($5,800); JD Speilman, TCU ($4,500); Brant Kuithe, Utah ($3,900)
