DraftKings CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Daily Fantasy College Football (9/18/21 Early)

Spencer Rattler, College Football Transfers

Our big slate on Saturday has 12 games that DraftKings picked out for us. All are FBS vs. FBS teams and we've got some big ones on here. We kick it off with Nebraska and Oklahoma playing for the first time in 11 years. CCU takes the mullets up to Buffalo. Miami welcomes Mel Tucker's soaring Spartans to South Beach. Virginia Tech heads up to Morgantown. Cincinnati goes to Bloomington, and those are just the noon games!

Minnesota heads out to Boulder to start the afternoon. Purdue takes on the other Golden Domers from Indiana in South Bend. The Wreck go up to Clemson to get wrecked. Tulsa heads to the Shoe to take on the other OSU. Florida State heads into Winston-Salem to get smoked. USC, armed with a new coach, heads to the Paloose. Top that off with Bama in Gainesville, and we have a hell of a slate here!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/18/21. I’ll be providing multiple player suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option apiece at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Quarterbacks

Spencer Rattler, Oklahoma ($9,500)

Rattler set a career best with five touchdown passes last week. He needed that after a lackluster performance against Tulane. Nebraska played their best game under Scott Frost last week, but I want to see them prove it. I'm not sure they can. The Nebraska defensive line is a strength, but the Oklahoma offensive line is good enough to stop them. Rattler is going to be the engine that makes the Sooners go. They're still irritated that Nebraska tried to back out of this game and that Fox slapped the 11am Central time slot on them. Oklahoma's going to come out mad and put up some big scores. It starts with Rattler.

Sam Hartman, Wake Forest ($7,800)

The Florida State defense was torched by Jack Coan. They followed that up with a home loss to Jacksonville State by giving up 13 points in the fourth quarter. Hartman isn't going to put up huge numbers, but Wake has some good receivers when they get tired of running the ball. They could have their way with the Seminoles here. The price is right for Hartman. He might flirt with 30 DraftKings points.

Brendon Lewis, Colorado ($5,500)

You know I'm a sucker for running quarterbacks. The Minnesota pass defense has been a sore spot thus far though. There are yards to be had through the air and the Ralphies have some good receivers. They just need Lewis to get them the ball. Colorado hasn't been willing to really turn Lewis loose yet though. I don't mind playing him at this price for the floor. Lewis is still going to get a nice pile of yards on the ground regardless of if he does well through the air or not. There is potential here.

Also consider: C.J. Stroud, Ohio State ($10,000); Jack Plummer, Purdue ($7,900); Jayden de Laura, Washington State ($7,400); Jordan Yates, Georgia Tech ($6,000)

DraftKings CFB DFS Running Backs

Trey Potts, Minnesota ($7,300)

It turns out the Gophers had another horse in the stable behind Mohamed Ibrahim. There's a good chance that Ibrahim had his last carry as a Gopher against Ohio State. Potts was fed 34 times against Miami of Ohio last week and turned that into 178 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He's not the receiver that Ibrahim is out of the backfield so I don't see him getting quite as many snaps as Ibrahim did, but it's clear that Potts is going to get most if not all of the Minnesota carries. Volume alone makes him worth the price.

Kenneth Walker III, Michigan State ($7,100)

I said before the season that the Spartans needed to run the ball to become an effective team again. Wake Forest transfer Kenny Walker is everything the Spartans needed. He has five touchdowns in two games and ran for 264 on a pretty strong Northwestern run defense. The Hurricanes have had issues defensively, so this promises to be an adventure for them. Walker may not have a game like he did against Northwestern, but he should be a lock for triple digits and a score.

Deneric Prince, Tulsa ($5,500)

It takes some stones to run Prince against the Buckeyes, especially if Tulsa falls behind. However, the Buckeyes have allowed 472 rushing yards and 5.4 yards per carry in two games this year. Oregon and Minnesota are both run-dominant teams, but so is Tulsa. The Golden Hurricane defense has looked the part. It's the offense that has been sluggish. What makes Prince worth the risk is his receptions out of the backfield. Shamari Brooks is stealing snaps, but Prince is in there most of the time on passing downs. Tulsa will have a lot of those if they fall behind big, so that mitigates the risk.

King Doerue, Purdue ($4,600)

The loss of Zander Horvath to a broken leg will open up a ton of carries to Doerue. Notre Dame has been gashed on the ground. That's what allowed Toledo to stay close. Doerue is a strong back as well. He's not the bulldozer that Horvath is, but he's going to find some seams in this defense and it really doesn't take much to pay off this price. He has slate-breaking potential here.

Also consider: Reese White, Coastal Carolina ($7,700); Jerome Ford, Cincinnati ($7,000); Max Borghi, Washington State ($6,700); Kobe Pace, Clemson ($4,800)

DraftKings CFB DFS Wide Receivers

Jaivon Heiligh, Coastal Carolina ($8,300)

Heiligh has at least 100 receiving yards in four straight games dating back to last season. He's about as consistent as you can get at wide receiver. Buffalo's pass defense has been strong, but CCU is a well-rounded offense. They get the ball to their playmakers regularly. Heiligh is the best of them. This is the first game where CCU may actually need to lean on Heiligh more, so the ceiling is good even at this price tag.

David Bell, Purdue ($7,700)

The Irish defense has struggled more against the run than the pass, but David Bell is putting up some big numbers already this year. With Rondale Moore in the NFL, he is getting even more looks from Plummer. This should be a close and high-scoring game, which can lead to big games for the skill players on both sides much like Missouri and Kentucky did last week. I will have at least one Purdue stack and will run Bell a few times on his own.

Jadon Haselwood, Oklahoma ($5,200)

With Theo Wease still sidelined, Haselwood seems likely to get his five targets per game that he has been getting so far this year. Oklahoma spreads the ball around a lot, so paying up for Marvin Mims isn't always the best idea. Haselwood is nicely priced for a number two receiver in a high-powered offense against a shaky pass defense.

Peyton Hendershot, Indiana ($3,300)

The Hoosiers were an absolute disaster against Iowa on offense, but Hendershot got the second-most targets on the team in week 1. He didn't catch a pass against Idaho, but I don't put too much stock into that one. Indiana didn't need a check-down option against the Vandals. They will against this Cincinnati defense.

Also consider: Chris Olave, Ohio State ($8,100); Michael Mayer, Notre Dame ($7,300); Samori Toure, Nebraska ($5,600); Quian Willaims, Buffalo ($5,100); JuanCarlos Santana, Tulsa ($3,800)
