OwnersBox Pitcher Picks

On OwnersBox, you select two Pitchers, and need three games from these two pitchers. Any game you go over after the third, best ball mode is activated - meaning the lowest score is dropped. So a good approach is obviously looking for affordable two-start pitchers for the week with at least three solid matchups in mind.

Corbin Burnes, MIL ($39,000) - v CHC, v STL

There is no question at this point in 2021 that Corbin Burnes is always a great play. Over the last month among SP he resides in the top-10 in K%, BAA, WHIP, FIP, and xFIP. His last start resulted in a combined no-hitter after throwing eight hitless innings with 14 strikeouts against the Indians. This was good for 126 FP on OwnersBox. This week he has two home starts on the slate, against division rivals Cubs and Cardinals, who own the fourth and sixth highest K% against RHP respectively over the L14. Pay up for Burnes this week, and feel great about it.

Logan Webb, SFG ($25,000) - v ATL, at SDP

I will continue to use two-start Logan Webb as long as OwnersBox continues to underprice him. He is no Corbin Burnes, but he has been excellent over the second half of the season. Over the last month he boasts a 26.6 K%, 2.25 FIP, and a 1.04 WHIP while rocking a beautiful 63 GB%. The match-ups aren't great, but they are good enough to warrant taking advantage of the low price tag.

OwnersBox Infielder Picks

The Infield is my favorite position on Ownersbox. You only need 28 games from the five players. Simple math tells you if you average six games per infielder, you are already at the two lowest scores dropped from the lot. That way you can utilize five-game studs as long as you pair them eventually with a seven-game player also to maintain that 30 total games. The Outfield is much more difficult to take advantage this way, so don't waste the opportunity with your infielders!

Seth Beer, ARI ($14,000) - 7 Games

The 2018 first-round pick is finally getting his first crack at the big leagues. The kid has been an on-base monster in the minors, with some modest pop. He slugged 16 homers with a .398 OBP through 100 games at Triple-A this year. In his five games since being called up to the Diamondbacks he is 4-9 with a HR. The young lefty should be lined up to see three RHP from HOU, and three RHP from ATL this week. I will take a shot on him at the minimum per-game price.

Brad Miller, PHI ($18,200) - 7 Games

Over the last month, Brad Miller has been the second-best hitter in Philadelphia behind Bryce Harper. Across 68 PA vs RHP he owns an impressive 187 wRC+, .411 ISO, and a 1.108 OPS. He gets decent match-ups against Taijuan Walker and Carlos Carrasco at Citi Field before he feasts on the Orioles and Pirates pitching staffs at home this week, aka MLB's stat-stuffers.

OwnersBox Outfielder Picks

As I mentioned previously, filling the three Outfield slots is more difficult than the five Infielders on OwnersBox. You need 17 games from the three hitters, so that means you mostly want to stay away from five-game hitters. I try to get at least one seven-gamer if possible and aim for at least 19 total games for two lowest score drops.

Jose Siri, HOU ($15,400) - 7 Games

Like Seth Beer in Arizona, Jose Siri is in the midst of his first big-league cup of coffee. Siri had similar numbers to Beer in Triple-A this season, except he added 24 SB in his 94 games. In 2017 he stole 46 bases in 126 Single-A games. The kid's got some wheels, and is off to one hell of a start for the Astros. Through his first seven MLB games, Siri is 5-11 with 2 HR, and 3 SB. The fantasy upside is quite tantalizing if he can control the whiffs. This week's schedule looks pretty good for the Stros, as they face Arizona's terrible pitching staff for three games at home before traveling to LAA where they will see two LHP and Alex Cobb.

Yoshi Tsutsugo, PIT ($16,800) - 7 Games

Yoshi and I are on great terms right now after all the recent success he has brought me in daily and weekly fantasy. The man is raking. Over the last month he is hitting .292 with SEVEN dongs, a .415 ISO, and 180 wRC+. He might have a case for being fantasy's most underrated hitter since he was acquired by the Pirates. As it currently lines up, Pittsburgh will face RHP for all seven of its games on this week's slate, and aside from SanCy Alcantara they are not an impressive bunch.
