Luis Urias is a fantasy baseball waiver wire pickup for Week 25 of the 2021 MLB season. Consider adding the 2B/3B/SS if he's a free agent in your leagues.
ANALYSIS: Milwaukee Brewers infielder Luis Urias is off to a hot start to the month of September. Over his first 11 games of the month, he's slashing .317/.404/.537 with two home runs, three doubles, six RBI and seven runs.
Urias is in the midst of a career-best season. Over 134 games, he's slashing .251/.340/.448 with 20 home runs, five stolen bases, 65 RBI and 71 runs. He's done a fantastic job of increasing his quality of contact this year while also improving upon his plate discipline. He's currently maintaining career-highs in barrel-rate (9.7%) and hard-hit rate (41.6%). Meanwhile, his 20.6% strikeout rate is well below last year's 26.7% clip and his 10.4% walk rate is up from last year's 8.3% rate.
With Willy Adames (quad) on the injured list, Urias is the team's primary shortstop for now. However, Urias has seen regular playing time all year and should continue to be in the team's starting lineup almost everyday upon Adames' return. Urias is worth adding in all fantasy leagues. He has a chance to help fantasy managers across the board down the stretch. His triple positional eligibility at second base, third base and shortstop gives fantasy managers a lot of flexibility in deploying him.
