Ryan Blaney is one of the Team Penske drivers who has not fared quite so well on road courses this year. He has one top ten finish and that is it. The concern is that he starts from the third position so place differential is not on his side either. Seeing a 17th here and a 15th there is not all that inspiring. He has not led a single lap on road courses in 2021 either. That is another red flag as Blaney probably won't even be able to get past his own teammates early. The likelihood is that he slides down the field. How far he slides is a question mark. However, there may be better options even if Blaney did have a top-ten finish in his last two starts at Watkins Glen. It's a risky proposition. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
