Streaming hitters and pitchers to exploit matchups are important to help you win your league.
It is important to know your league if you're going to stream. I'm not just talking about which teams your leaguemates root for. I'm talking about whether strikeouts count against you for hitters or if fielding stats are included. Most importantly, you need to know how many transactions you have per week. You don't want to blow your allotment within a couple of days. You can also use these recommendations to help build your DFS lineups. This article will use rostered percentages and position eligibility from ESPN leagues.
Eight pitchers are owned in 97% or more of ESPN leagues and another seven are owned in more than half of the leagues. So what does that leave us? More than usual. We have 21 pitchers to choose from because of all of the double dippers from last night's rainouts. We've got some good choices at low ownership!

Hitter Streamers for 5/29 - Shallow Leagues
Avisail Garcia (OF, RHB, MIL) - 46.8% Rostered
Matchup: at WAS LHP Jon Lester, at WAS LHP Patrick Corbin
Christian Yelich is back and Avi is still batting cleanup for the Brewers. That has to count for something. Garcia has slipped back into a platoon of sorts of late, but he still has two homers in his last four games. Against a guy like Lester who has allowed 11 runs - including four homers - in his last two starts, this is where you want to run Avi. It's worth the chance that he might nick your average. It's far more likely he gets something against Lester. Tack on Corbin on the tail end of a double header, and Avi could have quite an afternoon if both games play.
Jurickson Profar (2B/OF, SHB, SD) - 43.5% Rostered
Matchup: at HOU RHP Jake Odorizzi
The Rangers once thought enough of Profar to trade away Ian Kinsler. He hasn't lived up to those lofty prospect expectations, but that doesn't mean that Profar isn't still a good Major League player. After a slow start in San Diego, Profar is hitting .370 with nine runs, five RBI, and two steals in the last week. The stolen bases are a nice touch and are a category often ignored by the streaming community. Go grab Profar against a guy making his first start of the year in a solid hitter's park. There's nice potential here.
Alex Kiriloff (1B/OF, LHB, MIN) - 43.5% Rostered
Matchup: vs. KC RHP Ervin Santana
Santana has been nice out of the bullpen so far, but he has also not pitched more than three innings in any appearance. What this means to me is at least two of Kiriloff's at bats will come against one of the worst bullpens in the league. Maybe Kiriloff can't get to Santana, but I would be he gets to someone in that disaster of a bullpen.
Garrett Cooper (1B/OF, RHB, MIA) - 28.5% Rostered
Matchup: at BOS RHP Nathan Eovaldi
The outfield for the Fish is about to get crowded next week with the likely return of Starling Marte (rib). Cooper is doing his best to either make sure he remains in it or to hope some kind contending soul notices his work and trades for him. Cooper is 11-22 over the last week with three homers, six runs scored, and eight RBI. His career splits against righties and lefties are about even, so I have no issues running him at Eovaldi, who has some reverse splits in his career.
Hitter Streamers for 5/29 - Deep Leagues
Tyler O'Neill (OF, RHB, STL) - 22.6% Rostered
Matchup: at ARI RHP Seth Frankoff
If you streamed O'Neill last night, you got another homer and two RBI for your foresight. Don't drop him just yet. This matchup isn't as dreamy as one against MadBum, but this is still a big time hitter's park with a young pitcher that just got mutilated at Coors in his last start. The kid might be a little shaken. O'Neill has homered in both games coming off the IL. It's worth hanging onto him for the duration of this series at the very least.
Hunter Renfroe (OF, RHB, BOS) - 10.2% Rostered
Matchup: vs. MIA LHP Taylor Rogers
Rogers has been superb this year, but this is his first trip to an A.L. park this year. We have seen many N.L. pitchers struggle in A.L. parks because of the DH. This is a straight home run call and nothing else. Don't use Renfroe if you are in a points league where strikeouts count against you or if you can't take a hit in average. I'd say there's at least a 67% chance he draws the collar. Rogers is that good.
Willy Adames (SS, RHB, MIL) - 10.1% Rostered
Matchup: at WAS LHP Jon Lester, at WAS LHP Patrick Corbin
Those of you watching advanced metrics and Statcast should feel the vindication of Adames' heater since being traded to the Brewers. Those watching his recent barrel percentage, launch angle, and exit velocity predicted Adames would get going soon. He is 7-for-20 with four runs, a homer, and six RBI since joining the Brewers and is showing no signs of slowing down. Considering the recent struggles of Lester, I'm going to be very heavy on Willy tonight across my leagues. He's out there in most of them. Piggybacking with another struggling lefty in Corbin is a streamer's dream.
Edmundo Sosa (2B/SS, RHB, STL) - 6.4% Rostered
Matchup: vs. ARI RHP Seth Frankoff
Sosa has been thrust into every day action with the injury to Paul DeJong and he has done pretty well with it. The rookie is hitting .341 with nine runs, three RBI and two steals in 44 at bats so far. Sosa has no power to speak of, but streaming isn't all about power. This is about helping your average and runs scored while getting a steal or two.

Austin Gomber (LHP, COL) - 20.2% rostered
Matchup: at Pittsburgh
I am well aware of Gomber's whacked-out home/road splits this year. If you dig a little deeper and take out Gomber's absolute implosion at Oracle Park, his road splits aren't nearly as bad as they look. Gomber has only give up three runs in his last two road starts and struck out 15 batters in the process. As if Javier Baez making fools of them on National television isn't bad enough, the Pirates have scored just 61 runs in 23 games this month. That's less than three runs per game for an entire month! Gomber could be in line for a superb spot start and has good strikeout potential against an offense that couldn't hit the Unisphere with a Redwood tree right now.
Pitcher Streamers for 5/29 - Deep Leagues
Deivi Garcia (RHP, NYY) - 5.5% Rostered
Matchup: at Detroit
Garcia was decent in his one major league start this year and has struggled a bit at AAA Scranton-Wilkes Barre. So why use him? Because the Tigers strike out more than Adam Dunn and Pete Incaviglia combined. The Tigers are waking up after a dreadful April, so this isn't without risk. However, the strikeout potential alone is tough to find on waivers in deep leagues and is worth a shot if you can take the possible ERA/WHIP hit.
Mike Foltynewicz (RHP, TEX) - 4.8% Rostered
Matchup: at Seattle
The season-long numbers are much worse on Foltynewicz and aren't an indicator of how well he has pitched at times this year. He shut out Houston for seven innings in his last start, and after allowing a staggering eight homers in his first four starts, Folty has only allowed three in six starts since. That includes three straight starts spanning 15.2 innings without surrendering a long ball. His strikeouts are also way down, but this Seattle offense is an absolute disaster. There's a reason they've been no-hit twice in less than two months. Folty should boost your ratios, maybe help your strikeouts, and give you a puncher's chance at win. You can do worse.
