Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Pickups - Week 11

Week 11 fantasy basketball waiver wire pickups, adds, and sleepers for the 2020-2021 NBA season. Justin Carter recommends guards, forwards and centers to target through waivers or free agency in fantasy leagues.

It's time for the weirdest week of the season: All-Star week!

Because of the All-Star Game, Week 11 is essentially two weeks, but with a big gap in the middle. That alters some things in terms of how to deal with your lineups, as teams play a pretty disparate amount of games this week. Check out Milos Zvekic's weekly streamer piece for a good look at how this impacts you when it comes to streaming, though my article takes a more long-term look at stuff.

Our staff at RotoBaller has great insight and daily columns on how to improve your squad and tips to make your team successful, so be sure to check them out! Now, let's get prepared for Week 10. All players in this article are rostered at around 50 percent or less.

9-Category Leagues Waiver Wire

Columns are written based on H2H 9-category standard size leagues:

Josh Hart, SG/SF - New Orleans Pelicans

40% rostered - While Hart isn't consistently producing, he has seen his minutes increase and has become a key part of Stan Van Gundy's rotation. His shot has been off the last two games, including an 0-for-8 night against the Spurs, but if Hart keeps playing around 30 minutes and keeps providing some solid rebounding numbers for a SG/SF player, he'll be a valuable fantasy piece in the second half.

Robert Williams III, C - Boston Celtics

38% rostered - Despite not playing a ton of minutes, Williams continues to make the most of the minutes he's on the floor. Example: he played 22 minutes last game against the Pacers, and in that time had 14 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks. The biggest sea where Williams will help you is field goal percentage, though. The last time he shot under 60 percent in a game? The 14th, when he was 1-for-3. On the season, Williams is a 72 percent shooter.

Tristan Thompson, PF/C - Boston Celtics

33% rostered - Speaking of Celtics bigs, Thompson is the higher floor play because he gets more minutes most nights, but his top-end production won't reach what Williams gives. That makes Thompson less appealing, but he's still a solid option for a fantasy manager in a deeper league who needs rebounding help.

Derrick Jones Jr., SG/SF - Portland Trail Blazers

30% rostered - DJJ has scored in double figures in five of the past six games. But maybe most important for fantasy managers in 9-cat leagues is that Jones has blocked multiple shots in five consecutive games. Blocks from someone with guard eligibility? Sign me up!

Malik Monk, PG/SG - Charlotte Hornets

27% rostered - Monk has been scoring like crazy lately, hitting the 20-point mark in four of the past five games. Over that span, he's averaging 20.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.0 threes per game, with a shooting split of 49.3/47.6/70.6. Monk seems to be making a bit of a leap right now, and while we don't know yet if it's sustainable, the scoring and the threes make him an ideal player to add to your fantasy roster.

Jalen Brunson, PG/SG - Dallas Mavericks

26% rostered - Over his last five games, Brunson has averaged 15.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.0 threes, and 0.8 steals per game. Some solid numbers, and while the way this Mavs team is built likely means that Brunson's playing near his ceiling right now, he's someone whose current role is enough to help you out in multiple ways.

Jarred Vanderbilt, SF/PF - Minnesota Timberwolves

22% rostered - Vanderbilt's value is down a little after he went through an incredible rough patch, but his minutes are back up over the past two games because Malik Beasley was handed a 12-game suspension. Because of that, Vanderbilt should be on the floor plenty over the next few weeks, and has the ability to post a points/rebound double-double most nights.

Saben Lee, PG - Detroit Pistons

21% rostered - Lee came completely out of nowhere to play heavy minutes for the Pistons, averaging 26.2 minutes over the past four games with 13.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. His 80 percent shooting mark from deep is unsustainable, but without much guard depth in Detroit, Lee should keep playing solid minutes and producing some good numbers.

Bruce Brown, SG - Brooklyn Nets

17% rostered - It seems like virtually every night there's a Nets star sitting out, and that's led to increased minutes and production from third-year guard Bruce Brown. Over the last four games, Brown is averaging 17 points per game, plus 6.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals. His defensive abilities give him some strong upside in some of the categories that guards don't usually contribute in, and while he'll probably see a reduced role come playoff time, Brown will be playing plenty over the remainder of the regular season.

Dennis Smith Jr., PG - Detroit Pistons

16% rostered - Traded to the Pistons in the Derrick Rose deal, Smith was completely out of the rotation in New York. Now, he's starting in Detroit. He's scored in double figures in three consecutive games and is averaging 6.5 assists per game in the past two games. He's made multiple threes in three of the past four. He's shooting the ball efficiently. He looks like an NBA player! It's a miracle! Even more than Saben Lee, Smith seems like the Pistons point guard to pick up because of his current role.
