FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (6/22/19): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Joel Bartilotta highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 6/22/19, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

It's Saturday and that means we have another full day of baseball ahead of us. I'll do my best to provide plays throughout the day, so that all of you guys can have something to look forward to for whatever slate you choose to play. What I'm going to do here is focus on all value plays. All of my hitter recommendations will be below $3,500, so it's much easier for you guys to construct your lineups and get more studs in there.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 6/22/2019. The picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

We also provide DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me on Twitter @Bartilottajoel

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Hyun-Jin Ryu, LAD vs. COL ($10,600)

This pick really doesn't take much explanation. We're talking about a guy who leads the NL with a 1.26 ERA and 0.82 WHIP, as he's simply been the best pitcher in baseball the first three months. Usually, the best pitcher in baseball is in the $12,000-range, which means that Ryu is a pretty nice bargain at this price. Facing Colorado may scare off some people off but it's actually a superb matchup. Not only do they rank 23rd in K rate, the Rockies also sit 21st in xwOBA and 27th in road OPS. That doesn't even take into consideration that they'll be without Trevor Story, who absolutely smashes lefties.

Tommy Milone, SEA vs. BAL ($7,100)

Milone is not a guy who I thought would ever be in one of my articles at the beginning of the season but he's simply been superb. That's evident by his 3.03 ERA and 0.89 WHIP, posting a 32:5 K:BB rate. The consistency is just incredible, with Milone allowing three runs or fewer in every start while striking out at least six batters in all but one start. Facing Baltimore is simply the icing on the cake, with the Orioles ranking 19th in K rate, 26th in OBP. 27th in xwOBA and 30th in wOBA. That's why Milone enters this matchup as a -160 favorite with the Orioles projected for fewer than four runs.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Joey Votto: 1B, CIN at MIL ($3,100)

Many people have thrown the white flag in on Votto but he's actually been playing much better recently. Over his last 21 games, Votto is hitting .359 while providing a .953 OPS in that span. That's all you can ask for from a $3,100 player, especially a guy who has an OBP above .400 against righties for his career, in addition to an OPS north of .900. Facing a righty is nice but squaring off with a guy who has a 5.60 ERA and 1.52 WHIP only adds to Votto's intrigue.

Derek Dietrich: 2B, CIN at MIL ($2,700)

In addition to Votto, we definitely want to get some Reds into our lineup. The reason for that is because of Jhoulys Chacin, who's allowing a .352 xwOBA to match his ugly ERA and WHIP. That alone would put all of the Reds in play but hitting in a hitter's haven like Miller Park is simply the cherry on top. We haven't even discussed Dietrich, who's simply developed into one of the best righty smashers around. So far this season, Dietrich is posting a .639 SLG and 1.005 OPS against right-handed pitching.

Asdrubal Cabrera: 3B, TEX vs. CWS ($2,900)

This price is simply too cheap. Not only has Cabrera been much better from the left side, he's absolutely raked at home. In fact, Cabrera has a .793 OPS against righties this year while posting a .918 OPS at home. That's no surprise when you consider the fact that Globe Life Park is one of the best hitting parks in the Majors and why the Rangers are projected for six runs. A pitcher like Odrisamer Despaigne pitching in that little league ballpark is a recipe for disaster, as his 8.16 ERA and 2.13 WHIP matches his ugly .421 wOBA.

Chris Taylor: SS, LAD vs. COL ($2,600)

With Corey Seager out of the picture, Taylor has returned to being an everyday player. It's done wonders for his fantasy value too, with the righty shortstop averaging 20 FD points across his last five games. That's absurd production and it's clear that he's way more comfortable playing every day. We absolutely love this matchup against Peter Lambert and we'll go over that more in our next write-up.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Joc Pederson, LAD vs. COL ($3,200)

Pederson has led off nearly every single game against a right-hander and it's a wonder why he's not $4,000 in these circumstances. So far this season, Pederson is generating a .635 SLG and .989 OPS against right-handed pitching. Anybody producing like that atop one of the best lineups in baseball is always in play, especially against a pitcher like Peter Lambert. A 6.00 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in limited time at the Majors this season says a lot but his 5.06 ERA and 1.44 WHIP across 115.2 innings at Triple-A shows that this is a gas can we want to exploit.

Jarrod Dyson, ARI at SF ($2,800)

This is yet another leadoff hitter who's way too cheap. Dyson has regularly been leading off for the Diamondbacks this season and it's directed to a career season. In fact, the outfielder is setting a career-high with a .734 OPS, which is quite the mark from a speed-demon like Dyson who has 30-steal potential. He's playing superbly right now too, averaging 11 FD points per game across his last 13 fixtures. Facing Tyler Beede may be the best about this play though, with Dyson getting the platoon advantage and the San Fran righty pitching to a 6.67 ERA and 1.91 WHIP this season.
