DrafKings DFS Pitchers

Zack Wheeler, NYM vs. DET ($8,600)

This is a pretty interest day at pitcher. A clear top option in Justin Verlander is close to $12k and facing off with the Red Sox. Without any cheap offense to stack, we’ll pass. After Verlander, you have five guys similarly priced that are all comparable pitchers. Zack Wheeler has the beet match-up of them all, facing off with the Tigers as a -175 favorite. Detroit ranks 27th in baseball with a team .283 wOBA and strikeout 26.2% of the time. When you combine that with the best Zack Wheeler (10+ K/9) we’ve ever seen, you get a very solid play in all formats.

Jake Odorizzi, MIN vs. CWS ($8,200)

Odorizzi has been rock solid this season, going five plus innings in seven straight games while sporting a 2.38 ERA backed up by peripherals. He’s not a guy we’re used to consistency from, but he’s showed it as of late and gets another great match-up tonight. The White Sox rank 26th against righties in terms of wOBA and strikeout nearly 26% of the time. Odorizzi is too cheap on FanDuel and will allow you to play whatever bats you want.

DraftKings DFS Infielders

C/1B - C.J. Cron, MIN vs. CWS ($4,900)

When looking at team totals for today, two teams stand out. The Rockies at 7.45, who play later on in the day and the Twins at 6.46. It’s very rare to see a number so high and is a full 1.5 higher than any other team on the slate. C.J. Cron has personally been hitting the cover off of the ball and will look to make that continue against Dylan Covey and the Sox sub-par bullpen. He’s allowed a .360+ wOBA to both sides of the plate and will be lucky to make it through four clean innings. The Twins are the top cash game stack of the slate.

2B - Aledmys Diaz, HOU vs. BOS ($4,000)

Eduardo Rodriguez is by no means a bad pitcher, but he holds a 3.76 xFIP and is due for some regression. With a disgusting changeup, he’s actually better against righties, but still has an HR problem and can’t keep runners off base. With the Astros lineup in shambles, Aledmys Diaz picked up the start at leadoff yesterday and came through with two doubles. I’d guess he’s right there again and with his price on FanDuel so affordable, he’s hard to get off at second base.

SS - Corey Seager, LAD @ PIT ($3,900)

There are a lot of different ways you can go here at shortstop. If I’m not worried about salary, Jorge Polanco would be in every lineup of mine. He’s just uber expensive and there are other solid options at the position. Corey Seager, for example, is way too cheap and facing off with the unstable Chris Archer. He still has a dirty Arsenal, but walks 4.5 batters per nine innings and doesn’t strikeout double-digits per nine anymore. A 4.42 xFIP to lefties is worrisome and Corey Seager is starting to hit like we expect him to. He’s a .400+ wOBA hitter against righties when fully healthy and seeing the ball. He won’t be paid much attention to on this slate and is a perfect mid-range SS with tons of upside.

3B - Eugenio Suarez, CIN @ CHI ($4,300)

Jose Quintana is actually not someone I often look to pick on. He does a pretty good job of controlling damage and making sure he makes it a serviceable 5-7 innings. With that being said, if he is going to be hit it’ll be from a righty. A 4.17 xFIP is a little below average paired with a 1.5 HR/9 and 42% hard contact rate. Eugenio Suarez has been one o the quieter best players on the season, with 14 bombs already. Against lefties, a .423 wOBA and four home runs in just 39 at-bats. He’s always specialized vs left-handlers and now gets an average one in Wrigley Field. He’s affordable and well worth the price as a 1-off.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

OF - Max Kepler, MIN vs. CWS ($5,200)

Rosario is the pricier play in this same outfield and he’s my favorite way to pay up out of anyone. Max Kepler is just a bit cheaper and is seeing the ball like never before. In just 6 games, Kepler has 13 hits and two home runs. He’s much better against opposing righties, holding a .376 wOBA since last season. Again, the Twins are the best stack of the day and you got as many in as you can. Personally, you won’t find a lineup of mine without four Twins.

OF - Kyle Schwarber, CHC vs. CIN ($4,100)

If you want to save a couple bucks and would like to maintain the upside, Kyle Schwarber is your guy. The Cubs lineup is swinging a hot bat and Schwarber should lead it off. Against righties, a .385 wOBA is nothing to scoff at. Tanner Roark is a below average righty arm that’s allowed a .407 wOBA and 6.67 xFIP to opposing lefties. The entire Cubs lineup is in play here and Schwarber is the safest/cheapest of all. He’s a great one-off in the outfield and great start to a Cubbies stack.

OF - Wil Myers, SDP @ TOR ($3,300)

Wil Myers is just too cheap for the player he is. He’s one of the absolute best hitters on the Padres and is going to turn things around. He just hit two homers last night, so that could very well be what he’s waiting for to break out of this slump. He’s just $3300 and facing off with Marcus Stroman, who’s just an average pitcher in every aspect. Myers is affordable and gives you huge upside anytime he steps to the plate. You won’t find a lineup of mine without the $3300 Myers.
