Houston Astros infielder Aledmys Diaz (hamstring) left the game early on Friday against the Boston Red Sox with left hamstring discomfort after sprinting on an infield single in the second inning. Diaz is seeing more playing time on the infield with Jose Altuve (hamstring) currently on the injured list, and he could be joining him there after Friday. Diaz has been decent as a utility infielder, hitting .256 (20-for-78) with five homers and 21 RBI.
