NBA Waiver Wire: Standard League Adds for Week 23

Week 23 fantasy basketball waiver wire adds for standard leagues. Take a look at Three NBA players who are owned in less than 50% of fantasy basketball leagues.

The fantasy basketball playoffs are here.

If you are still playing, then kudos, because you have made it further than most. The grind doesn't stop here. To make it to the end, stay vigilant, stay hungry, stay focused.

As a reminder, for standard (10-12 team) league adds, we use a general rule of thumb of an ownership rate of under 50% on Yahoo. All position eligibility based on Yahoo leagues.

Standard League Adds for Week 23

Corey Brewer, SG, SF – Oklahoma City Thunder

Ownership: 32%

4.7 PPG / 1.8 REB / .484 FG% / 1.5 3PT

Corey Brewer was forgotten and left for dead in Los Angeles the last two years, but has had a resurgence since coming over to Oklahoma this month. He has said as much saying he's out to prove that he can still play.

Over the last three weeks, Brewer is averaging 48 percent from the floor, 1.5 threes, 11.8 points and most importantly 2.3 steals per game. Defense has always been Brewer's strength, but the threes are an absolute rarity. Not only is he converting more threes than ever before in his career, but he's shooting 43 percent. Brewer is playing over 30 minutes a game in the Thunder's last five games which tells you he is in OKC's playoff plans.

Pick him up if you're in need of steals or threes.

Dillon Brooks, SG, SF – Memphis Grizzlies

Ownership 30%

10.2 PPG / 3.1 REB / 1.5 AST / 1.1 3PT

The complete opposite of Brewer, Dillon Brooks will not provide much of anything on the defensive end, but offensively the guy has come into his own the second half of the year. With Memphis in full tank mode, Brooks has really become aggressive, especially over the last two weeks, averaging 18.0 points, 3.2 boards, 1.4 assists, 0.8 steals and 2.2 treys in 32.2 minutes per game.

Cheick Diallo, PF, C – New Orleans Hornets

Ownership 3%

4.6 PPG / 3.4 REB / .571 FG% / .738 FT&

Call it a hunch, but look for Diallo to get more playing time down the stretch for New Orleans. The Pelicans are desperately holding on to a playoff spot and are extremely thin on the frontline. Diallo has stepped up when needed. In the last four games where Diallo has played over 20 minutes he's averaging 13.5 points and 11 rebounds, His Per 36 numbers are equally impressive at 16.7 points and 12.2 rebounds.

If Alvin Gentry gives Anthony Davis rest to get him ready for the playoffs and allots more time for Diallo he could be a major player down the stretch. And at the end of the season, those are the guys that win you a fantasy basketball title.
