It's Week 16 – we're approaching all star weekend, and the injuries keep piling up around the league. The waiver wire is flowing powerfully right now, and there are some interesting adds that can help you secure your playoff spot.
This year, we're tossing out our old convention of separating waiver wire posts into positions, and instead, we're separating them into of league -- standard, shallow, deep, etc. The NBA is trending to positionless basketball, so we at RotoBaller should too.
For shallow (8-10 team) league adds, we use a general rule of thumb of an ownership rate of under 65% on Yahoo. All position eligibility based on Yahoo leagues.

Shallow League Adds for Week 16
E'Twaun Moore, PG, SG, SF
Ownership: 47%
12.9 PPG / 3.5 REB / 2.3 AST / .460FG%
Before I start talking up Moore, let's have a moment of silence for those who had Demarcus Cousins on their fantasy team. I was a victim of this misfortune, so let's hope for a full recovery and for the fantasy Gods to reward us with clutch waiver pickups to try and make up for the loss. His numbers cannot be replaced but hopefully you acted quick enough to pick E'Twaun Moore up on Friday night. With Cousins being out for the remainder of the season, Moore should see more minutes and opportunities to score the ball.
It's tough to project what Moore's contribution will be without Cousins, but his averages when Davis wasn't in the lineup were impressive. In six games, he averaged 20.7 PPG, 3.3 REB and 3.8 3pM. In the first game without Cousins, he put up 18 points, two rebounds and an assist on 63.6% shooting. His output won't make up for the rebounds and blocks Cousins gave you on a nightly basis, but E'twaun Moore can definitely help you out in points and three pointers.
Danilo Gallinari, SF/PF

13.4 PPG / 4.4 REB / 1.5 3PM / .972 FT%
What a season it's been for the Clippers. Dealing with constant injuries and now the news of Blake heading to Detroit, it's been a tough task for fantasy players trying to speculate who is worth adding on this roster. The players the Clippers are set to receive are Tobias Harris, Avery Bradley and Boban Marjanovic. The Clippers are looking to blow up the roster and that means more opportunity for guys that could still be on your waivers.
According to reports, Gallinari is set to return this week and that can mean a favourable outcome for your fantasy team. It's tough to gauge what his role will be returning from his injury, but he has terrific upside, as he averaged 18.2 PPG, 5.2 REB and 2.0 threes a game last season. He is an extremely efficient free throw shooter, and although his field goal percentage has been awful at .345% this season, it should trend upwards as he gets his legs under him. His upside is too huge to leave on the waiver, pick him up if he's still available in your league.
Buddy Hield, SG
Ownership 60%
12.5 PPG/ 3.6 REB / 2.0 3PM / .441 FG%
It might just be me but I'm loving the Kings approach to giving their younger players more opportunity to shine. Hield has been up and down all season, but he has put together a recent stretch of games that leaves little to be desired. If you've owned Hield before, you know he can have nights where he can fill up the stat sheet, like last week against Miami when he scored twenty-four points and added five rebounds or he can have nights where he scores 0 points on 0/5 shooting like on Sunday against the Spurs.
I haven't done a great job of telling you why he should be added yet, but I will now. Ignoring Sunday's outlier performance, he's managed to hit double figures in 10 of his past 12 games and is averaging 14.0 PPG in that span and 2.5 3PM. You might have frustrating nights dealing with his inconsistency but his upside for the rest of the season is huge as the Kings go into full tank mode.
