CBB DFS Guards to Target on FanDuel

Top Play: Daniel Hamilton ($9,000)

With guys like Denzel Valentine and Andrew Andrews on the slate, Hamilton is likely to be one of the lower owned studs on the slate.  That should bode well for Hamilton owners in GPP’s as the UCONN stud has been on fire of late.  He has over 30 FP in seven of ten games, including two games over 40.  In those ten games he has also played over 30 minutes in all but two of them.  Despite being listed as a guard, Hamilton has double digit rebounds in four straight which gives him a very high floor which is what you are looking for your top end plays.  The over/under is not huge but it should be a tight game throughout.

Mid Tier: Troy Caupain ($7,500)

Another American conference game that should be competitive throughout is Cincinnati and Tulsa.  Both teams need this win and the Bearcats top player, Caupain, will look to keep his stellar play going.  At a solid discount from the top shelf players, Caupain has been hot over his last seven games with four games over 30 and one over 40.  His all-around game is stellar for fantasy with averages of 13.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 5.7 assists.  When you include the fact he has at least one steal in five straight games you get a player with upside and a good floor for cash games.  Considering the magnitude of the game do not be surprised to see Caupain push for the full 40 minutes of game time.

Value: Dupree McBrayer ($5,400)

Minnesota has been absolutely dreadful this year, however that has allowed Richard Pitino to work in some of his young players.  After dismissing Carlos Morris from the team yesterday, the freshman McBrayer should be in line for huge minutes.  He has played over 26 minutes in eight straight with mixed results, having two games over 20 but also mixing in a 6.1 point night a few weeks ago.  The other positive with McBrayer is that even if the Gophers are blown out by a talented Maryland team, McBrayer is a lock to stay on the floor.  If he can hit double figures in points along with a few counting stats he should hit value and be a way to get in other studs.

CBB DFS Forwards to Target on FanDuel

Top Play: Robert Carter ($7,700)

As mentioned, Minnesota has been a mess this year, particularly down low where they only have one player bigger than 6’6” that sees any playing time.  Carter, the Georgia Tech transfer, has solid averages of 12.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.4 blocks on the season.  Those numbers should see a jump in this game as Diamond Stone has been suspended, putting more scoring and rebounding burden on Carter.  Tonight Carter is more of a GPP as he is a bit inconsistent, but does have the upside of 30 fantasy points which he has hit in half of his last ten outings.  Look for him to put up a double-double along with a few blocks tonight in what should be one of his better evenings of the year.

Mid Tier: Derek Willis ($6,000)

Willis is not one of the most heralded recruits on Kentucky, but Calipari has finally started to give him minutes, especially with Alex Poythress out.  He would be a lock if not for that worrisome 18 minutes he played last game out against South Carolina.  Prior to that has averaging over 20 fantasy points per game over the previous nine games.  The other concern with Willis is that he only will score from points and rebounds which can be volatile on a nightly basis.  Last time out against Tennessee, Willis played 35 minutes, and despite a less than stellar game means the coaching staff feels he has a great match-up against the Vols.

Value: Matisse Thybulle ($5,600)

As mentioned above, pretty much the only player most people think of when it comes to Washington is Andrew Andrews, and for good reason.  However, in the past three games Thybulle has finally been given over 30 minutes a night and posted solid stat lines.  He followed up a huge 30.5 fantasy point night against the a stingy Arizona team with 15.9 and 26.3 which are good lines for a player at just $5,600.  Perhaps the best thing about Thybulle is that he does not need to score the ball to be a good fantasy play as his 15.9 point night came despite a zero in the scoring column.  He should be able to hit double figures in a game with an over/under at a huge 158.5, meaning a 20+ fantasy point night is a virtual lock.
