Deep League Waiver Wire: The Final Days

It is the end of days for the 2015 fantasy baseball season and hopefully for many of you, it will be a happy ending. If you are a fantasy baseball manager in a deep or very deep league who needs some last second streaming suggestions, today we will be discussing four batters and a starting pitcher who could do the trick in the last few days. All ownership rates are from Fleaflicker.

Editor’s Note: For other waiver wire options, check out RotoBaller’s fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups list. It's updated every single day. You can also download our waiver wire iPhone app for free, and easily stay updated.

Rich Hill (SP, BOS) - 3 percent owned

Hill has come out of nowhere for the Red Sox and has dominated on the mound. In his three games started this season, Hill has a 1.17 ERA, a 0.522 WHIP, and a 1.62 FIP; by allowing just 0.4 HR/9, 0.8 BB/9, and producing 11.7 K/9 in 23 IP. There isn't that much else to say; Hill has dominated in all three starts by producing phenomenal isolated statistics and he has parlayed his marvelous performances into two wins. Fantasy baseball owners should add Hill for his last start of the season.

Tommy Pham (OF, STL) - 3 percent

Pham has stepped up in the midst of several Cardinal injuries and has produced nicely. In 145 AB this season Pham has five triples, five HR, two SB, a .276 batting average, and a .846 OPS. In his last 40 AB Pham has three triples, three HR, a SB, a .375 batting average, and a 1.209 OPS. Pham is a great streaming option against RHP, as he has a .856 OPS against them on the season, and is also a great streaming option when playing away with a 1.009 OPS.

C.J. Cron (1B, LAA) - 5 percent

Cron is the best deep power option right now. In 354 AB this season Cron has 16 HR to go along with a .271 batting average and a .768 OPS. In his last 85 AB Cron has six HR, a .271 batting average, and a .852 OPS. In just the past week, he has hit two HR, with a .444 batting average, and a 1.278 OPS. Cron has been hot in the second half of the season with a .805 OPS after struggling with inconsistency. Cron is best to play at home where he owns a .858 OPS.

Eddie Rosario (2B/OF, MIN) - 6 percent

Rosario leads MLB in triples with an impressive 15. This season Rosario's power/speed combo has produced 12 HR and 11 SB in 434 AB. In his last 44 AB Rosario has hit three triples, three HR, stolen one base, and produced a .295 batting average, and a .985 OPS. If you need a mixture of HR/SB in the final days of the season, Rosario is the widely available hot hand. He is best to stream against LHP (.811 OPS) and at home (.931 OPS).

Eugenio Suarez (SS, CIN) - 6 percent

If only you could just add "Cincinnati SS" to your roster, you would have the best power hitting shortstop in baseball. After Zack Cozart's season was brought to an unfortunate end, Alfredo Simon trade product Eugenio Suarez stepped up in a big way. In 347 AB this year he has 19 doubles, 12 HR, four SB, a .282 batting average, and a .772 OPS. After a small dip in production in both July and August; Suarez has recovered nicely this month with two HR, a SB, a .289 batting average, and a .767 OPS in 90 Ab. As a streaming option: play Suarez against LHP, to whom he holds a .845 OPS against this year, and play him in hitter friendly Great American Ball Park where he owns a .800 OPS this year.
