Offenses to Target for DraftKings Stacking

San Francisco Giants Middle of the Lineup vs Martin Perez

As a team, the San Francisco Giants hold a top ten offense against left-handed pitching, with a wRC+ of 99. The bats in the middle of the lineup should be in a great position to drive in runs on Sunday against opposing pitcher Martin Perez. Perez got completely shelled by the Yankees in his last start, to the tune of 8 earned runs in one inning of work. Perez is lacking control, as he has been unable to strike out batters. Feel free to add Hunter Pence or Buster Posey into your lineup as great value picks.

Detroit Tigers Middle of the Lineup vs Ubaldo Jimenez

As a team, the Detroit Tigers hold a top five offense against right-handed pitching, with a wRC+ of 108. Sunday should be a nice day to load up on some power bats from the Detroit lineup against opposing pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez. Jimenez has struggled in two of his past three starts, one of which was against this Detroit lineup. He has been prone to the long ball, and a lack of success early in the game pretty much spells doom for Jimenez. Victor and J.D. Martinez should be great targets for Sunday.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for DraftKings

Jaime Garcia (SP, STL) - $9700

Jaime Garcia looks to be a great value pick as your ace starting pitcher for Sunday’s slate of games. The lack of strikeouts in his performances this year actually don’t really warrant this high an investment price. However, he has a terrific matchup on Sunday. Garcia will face the Colorado Rockies at home and he should definitely take advantage of this Tulo-less Rockies lineup. The Rockies are the worst team in the league against left-handed pitching, with a wRC+ of 64 and also struggle away from Coors field.

Julio Teheran (SP, ATL) - $6900

Julio Teheran remains a scary pick as the Jekyll and Hyde of starting pitchers. However, Teheran should be a great value pick as your secondary pitcher on Sunday due to his matchup against the Philadelphia Phillies. Teheran is an ideal pick if you’re entering a larger pool on DraftKings, as he should be your boom or bust lottery ticket. As long as he can cut down on his walk rate, Teheran should be able to look like his old self against the Phillies. The Phillies hold the second worst offense in the league against right-handed pitching, with a wRC+ of 82.

DFS Infielders to Consider for DraftKings

Anthony Rizzo (1B, CHC) - $5000

Anthony Rizzo is a must start on Sunday. Rizzo has played spectacularly as of late, going 8 for 15 in his past four games. He also has a home run in each of those 4 games. Rizzo has crushed right-handed pitching this year, with a wRC+ of 144. He will face opposing pitcher Kyle Lohse on the road. Lohse has been terrible this year, holding a 6.24 ERA with a 1.44 WHIP. Rizzo is also a career 11 for 24 with a home run against Lohse.

Brandon Phillips (2B, CIN) - $4100

Brandon Phillips is another must play on Sunday. Phillips has been hitting very well since the All Star Break, going .302 with 2 home runs and some steals. Phillips will be matched up against opposing pitcher Charlie Morton at home. Morton has struggled with his walk rate in his past few outings. Phillips holds a .303 wOBA against right-handed pitching this year, and has almost played very well against Morton in his career. Phillips is a lifetime 11 for 34 against Morton.

Josh Donaldson (3B, TOR) - $5000

Josh Donaldson should be worth the investment price on Sunday. Donaldson has been hitting extremely well since the All Star Break, with a .306 average and 5 home runs. Four of those home runs came in the last week. Donaldson will face opposing pitcher Edinson Volquez at home. Donaldson has dominated right-handed pitching. He holds a wOBA of .367. Given Volquez’s difficulty keeping runners off base lately, Donaldson should be in an excellent position to grab RBI on Sunday.

Jung Ho Kang (SS, PIT) - $3700

Jung Ho Kang has become one of the best hitting shortstops in the league. However, he still comes at a very nice bargain on DraftKings. Kang is hitting .440 with 3 home runs since the All Star Break. He has hit opposing right-handed pitching very well this year, holding a wRC+ of 130. Kang will face opposing pitcher Dylan Axelrod on the road. Axelrod has not been effective at all, having given up 8 earned runs in 3.2 innings of work this season.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for DraftKings

Carlos Gonzalez (OF, COL) -$4400

Carlos Gonzalez has been one of the lone bright spots in the Rockies lineup. He is the hottest outfielder in the league. Gonzalez has eight home runs since the All Star Break, to go along with a .404 average. Gonzalez has had his struggles against left-handed pitching this year. However, he has performed very well against opposing Jaime Garcia in a small sample. Gonzalez is a career 6 for 12 with a home run against Garcia. While the rest of the Rockies may struggle, Gonzalez should still be able to have a nice day at the plate on Sunday.

Adam Jones (OF, BAL) - $4400

Adam Jones looks to be a great pick as your secondary outfielder on Sunday. Jones has really begun to heat up in the past week, going 11 for 29 with 2 home runs. Jones will face opposing pitcher Daniel Norris at home. In the majors and minors this year, Norris has been disappointing. He holds a 4.18 ERA with a 1.50 WHIP on the year. Adam Jones has dominated left-handed pitching this year, with a wOBA of .410.

Melky Cabrera (OF, CWS) - $4100

Melky Cabrera should be an excellent pick at home on Sunday. Cabrera has really found his groove at the plate since the All Star Break. Cabrera has hit .391 with 2 home runs, and stringed together seven multi-hit games in late July. Cabrera has hit right-handed pitching well this year, holding a wOBA of .321. He also has very nice career numbers against opposing pitcher Ivan Nova in a small sample size. Cabrera is a lifetime 6 for 9 with 2 home runs against Nova.
