MLB DFS Lineup Picks And Sleepers – DraftKings Advice for 8/1/15

Not only is Saturday the first day of August, but it has a full slate of games in store with excellent match-ups pitting the Dodgers against the Angels and the Nationals against the Mets. Few ace pitchers aside from Clayton Kershaw expected to make starts, and with two hot hitting offenses in the Yankees and White Sox squaring off baseball could be in for a high-scoring day. Most eyes will likely fall on Cole Hamels who, coming off a no-hitter in his last start, is expected to make his Texas Rangers debut. In the midst of what looks to be a good day for scoring runs, here are a handful of pitchers and hitters who make for excellent DFS picks.

Editor's Note: If you play on DraftKings, you should check out our Partner FanDuel - they're hosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. It's just $5 to enter and pays out $60,000 in cash prizes, including 5K to 1st place!

Offenses to Target for Draft Kings Stacking

Toronto Blue Jays ( vs Kansas City )

A great offense got even better this week with the addition of Troy Tulowitzki, and that same offense is set to square off against Royals SP Yordano Ventura and his 4.86 ERA. The Blue Jays are the highest scoring team in the league thus far in 2015, with a lead nearly 60 runs strong, and have scored five or more runs in all but one of their last five games. There's no reason to believe they won't keep on rolling on Saturday.

Minnesota Twins ( vs Seattle )

The Twins' record may be on a skid as of late, but their offensive production is certainly not the cause of it. Minnesota has put up 37 runs in its last six games (6.16 R/G), and has a solid matchup at home on Saturday against Mariners SP Mike Montgomery. The 26-year-old Mariner has been beaten up in his last several starts and could have another rough outing if the hot-hitting Twins can continue their streak.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for Draft Kings

Jacob deGrom (SP, NYM) - $11,300

One of the best pitchers in baseball this season, deGrom hasn't given up more than two ER in any of his last 10 starts. The 27-year-old boasts a cool 2.05 ERA with a superb .88 WHIP and 128 K's across 127.1 IP, and faces a middle-of-the-pack Nationals offense on Saturday. Expect deGrom's success to continue.

Lance Lynn (SP, STL) - $9,600

A solid pitcher on the league's best team, Lynn has a 1.77 ERA at home this season which is right where he'll be on Saturday to face a Rockies team that recently traded away one of its best offensive players. Couple that good matchup with a career high 9.6 K/9 thus far in 2015 and Lynn becomes an excellent play in DFS.

DFS Infielders to Consider for Draft Kings

Ryan Howard (1B, PHI) - $3,000

Howard is the epitome of a boom-or-bust player when it comes to DFS. His power potential makes him a great value when he connects for a long-ball, but a .228 AVG and 27.5 K% suggests he often doesn't pay off often. However, Howard is in the midst of a nice five game hitting streak and has two HR and seven RBI over that span. He'll also face a right-hander in Matt Wisler on Saturday. Howard has a .494 SLG against righties in 2015 with a .339 wOBA and a 116 wRC+.

Chase Headley (3B, NYY) - $2,900

Having performed significantly better in the second half throughout his career, Headley is at it again. The Yankee 3B will finish July with an AVG north of .350 and 14 RBI. He isn't much of a HR threat, but batting in the middle of a powerful Yankee lineup coupled with a good matchup against a struggling John Danks makes Headley a good option on Saturday at a reasonable price.

Eddie Rosario (SS, MIN) - $2,600

The first of two Twins on this list, Rosario has four doubles, three triples, and a HR in his last five games and has scored nine runs in that span. Those extra-base hits haven't yet equated to many RBI, but as long as the young SS can keep slugging like he has a hot Twins lineup surrounding him should lead to further success. He's as good an option as any at one of baseball's weakest positions.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for Draft Kings

Melky Cabrera (OF, CHW) - $4,100

After struggling for the majority of 2015, Cabrera caught fire on the White Sox' recent road trip. The outfielder pulled of a streak of seven multiple hit games in a row and drove in a run in nine straight over that span as well. That production equates to a .393 AVG across his last 15 games with two HR and 14 RBI. His .112 ISO still leaves some to be desired, but a player on a hot streak like this makes for an excellent DFS pick.

Aaron Hicks (OF, MIN) - $3,100

Hicks, who faces a left-hander in Mike Montgomery on Saturday, has a ridiculous .632 SLG against lefties in 2015. He's also been up there with Cabrera as one of the hottest hitters in baseball over the last week or so, hitting above .500 with a pair of HR and nine RBI in his last seven games. There's loads of potential here.

Jay Bruce (OF, CIN) - $3,300

One of the best hitters in baseball when he's hot, Bruce has been just that this week. The Reds' outfielder sat out Friday night and will carry a five game RBI streak into Saturday's matchup against Gerrit Cole and the Pirates. While Cole has been among the league's best pitchers in 2015, Bruce boasts a .496 SLG against right-handers with a .352 wOBA.
