DraftKings DFS – MLB Lineup Picks, Sleepers, and Advice for 6/07/15

As always, my goal with this article is to help you identify viable options to insert into your DraftKings lineups, based on pricing and matchups data. He's a compilation of players I like when choosing a lineup for Sunday, June 7th.

Editor's Note: If you play on DraftKings, you should check out our Partner FanDuel - they're hosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. It's just $5 to enter and pays out $100,000 in cash prizes, including 10K to 1st place!

Offenses to Target for DraftKings Stacking

Cleveland Indians LHB vs Bud Norris

The Indians hold a top ten offense against right-handed pitching with a 112 wRC+. Expect the lefties in the Indians lineup to have a nice day at the plate against Bud Norris. He is just returning from injury and held a 9.88 ERA with a 1.87 WHIP early in the year. He also gave up at least 3 earned runs in all six of his starts as he was definitely prone to the long ball. Expect guys like Michael Bourn and Brandon Moss to be excellent sleeper picks at outfield.

Kansas City Royals LHB vs Colby Lewis

The Royals have definitely lived up to the hype this year as their offense has not skipped a beat since their success last year. The Royals hold the third best offense in the league against right-handed pitching with a 137 wRC+. This looks like a great matchup against opposing pitcher Colby Lewis, who has really struggled in three of his last four starts. On the year, Lewis holds a 4.48 ERA with a 1.24 WHIP. Eric Hosmer and Mike Moustakas should be nice value options for your corner infield positions.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for DraftKings

Jordan Zimmermann – SP – Nationals ($8700)

Jordan Zimmermann has improved upon his earlier season numbers and now holds an impressive 2.88 ERA with a 1.22 WHIP. Zimmermann has a nice matchup against the Chicago Cubs on Sunday. The knock on Zimmermann’s fantasy value this year has been his rather low strikeout rate. However this should not be a problem against the strikeout prone Cubs, who have the highest strikeout rate in the league. The Cubs also hold a bottom ten offense against right-handed pitching with a wRC+ of just 87. Look for Zimmermann to be an excellent pick as your ace starting pitcher.

Mike Pelfrey – SP – Twins ($4900)

Mike Pelfrey is a nice find in the bargain bin for Sunday’s slate of games. Pelfrey has actually had a very nice year thus far. He holds a 2.59 ERA with a 1.24 WHIP. His last three outings have also been pretty impressive, in which he tossed quality starts while allowing one run in each outing. Pelfrey has a home game against the Milwaukee Brewers, who hold the third worst offense in the league against right-handed pitching with a 82 wRC+.

DFS Infielders to Consider for DraftKings

Jonathan Lucroy – C – Brewers ($3800)

As much as Pelfrey looks to have a nice day against the Brewers lineup, Lucroy’s value as an underrated catcher is still too much to pass up. Lucroy is still arguably one of the best catchers in the league and has been extremely hot since returning from injury. Heading into the weekend, Lucroy is 8-for-14 with a home run in his last three games. His ideal placement in the middle of the Brewers lineup is also a positive. While the rest of the offense may struggle, Lucroy should still hit well on Sunday.

Prince Fielder – 1B – Rangers ($4800)

Prince Fielder looks like an incredibly safe pick for Sunday’s slate of games. He has been one of the hottest first basemen in the league, and holds a .352 average with 10 home runs and 40 RBI. Fielder has provided incredible value this year and his production is still worth the price tag. Fielder is matched up against opposing pitcher Jeremy Guthrie, who holds an awful 6.17 ERA with a 1.54 WHIP. Guthrie simply can’t strike out anyone, and Fielder will capitalize. Fielder is a career 12-for-24 with a home run against Guthrie.

Joe Panik – 2B – Giants ($3800)

The Joe Panik bandwagon is in full stride. Whether or not it carries for the rest of the season is up to debate, but Panik should have no problem keeping up his great play on Sunday. Panik is currently riding a ten game hitting streak heading into the weekend, and holds a .311 average with 4 home runs and 22 RBI. Panik is the hottest second baseman in baseball, and has an excellent matchup against opposing pitcher Sean O’Sullivan. O’Sullivan has struggled this year and holds a 5.03 ERA with a 1.37 WHIP. He has also just been absolutely terrible against left-handed hitters.

Maikel Franco – 3B – Phillies ($4200)

Maikel Franco looks to be an excellent value pick for Sunday, as he has been hitting incredibly well at home. Franco struggled at first after he was called up, but has put it together as of late and now holds a respectable .241 average with 5 home runs and 15 RBI. His place in the middle of the lineup gives him a lot of opportunities to drive in runs. Franco faces off against opposing pitcher Ryan Vogelsong. Franco has hit three home runs in four games heading into the weekend, all of which were at home.

Troy Tulowitzki – SS – Rockies ($5400)

It is incredibly hard to pick against Troy Tulowitzki when he is healthy and playing at home. Tulowitzki should be worth his price tag on Sunday as he has been hitting incredibly well as of late. In his last six games, he is 15-for-24 with 4 home runs. Tulowitzki should serve well in a shallow shortstop pool against opposing pitcher Jose Urena, who holds a 7.24 ERA with a 1.61 WHIP.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for DraftKings

Giancarlo Stanton – OF – Marlins ($5700)

Giancarlo Stanton seems to be getting into his groove. His power has been there all year, and he has hit home runs in three consecutive games heading into this weekend. Stanton looks to have a nice day at the plate on Sunday as he faces off against opposing pitcher Kyle Kendrick in Colorado. Kendrick has struggled this year, and especially at home. His only decent performances have come on the road this year. Kendrick holds a 6.55 ERA with a 1.47 WHIP. Stanton should have plenty of opportunities to drive in runs with this matchup.

Mike Trout – OF – Angels ($5000)

It feels like an obligation to point out that if you don’t go with Stanton for your primary outfield slot, that Mike Trout should also have a great day at the plate on Sunday. Trout doesn’t need any introduction. He is as great as always, and holds a .284 average with 14 home runs and 31 RBI. Trout has an ideal matchup against opposing pitcher C. C. Sabathia, who has really struggled on the year and holds a 5.45 ERA with a 1.47 WHIP. Sabathia has also been getting hammered by right handed batters, conceding 9 out of 10 home runs given up to right handed batters this year.

Brandon Moss – OF – Indians ($4300)

As mentioned earlier, Moss should be an excellent sleeper pick in your secondary outfield slot against opposing pitcher Bud Norris. Moss’s numbers have actually been pretty good lately, and he now holds a .247 average with 10 home runs and 32 RBI. Moss is a must play on Sunday because Norris simply hates left handed batters. Norris has allowed over half of all left handers he has faced this year to get on base, so expect Moss to take full advantage.
