Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 6:
Jameis Winston, New York Giants
New York Giants quarterback Jameis Winston put together his best performance of the season this past weekend. Winston completed 33-of-54 passing attempts for 326 yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions in the tie with the Washington Commanders. The veteran quarterback has thrown six touchdowns with two interceptions over his last two games.
He'll now get a favorable matchup against the New Orleans Saints defense in Week 6. The expectation is that the Giants are going to continue airing it out with Winston, considering he's having success right now. Fantasy managers looking for a streaming option this week should consider adding Winston.
Aaron Rodgers, Pittsburgh Steelers
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has looked like a new man under center lately. Over the last three games, Rodgers has thrown for 826 passing yards with nine touchdowns and three interceptions. The 42-year-old carved up the Indianapolis Colts defense this past weekend.
He'll now head into a Week 6 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have struggled to contain the passing attack. Who knows how long this is going to last, but fantasy managers should ride out the wave. Rodgers is looking like a safe streaming option against the Buccaneers in Week 6. He has played well enough to be viewed as a viable option for this upcoming weekend.
Jacoby Brissett, Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett could eventually lose his starting job if the team's struggles continue, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Arizona has dropped four straight games to fall to 1-4, although Brissett's individual production hasn't been nearly as poor as the record suggests.
The 33-year-old has completed 132 of 199 passes for 1,110 yards, nine touchdowns and five interceptions through five games, including 292 yards and three scores in Sunday's 45-21 loss to Detroit. Fowler believes the Cardinals could eventually turn to third-round rookie Carson Beck to evaluate their younger quarterback, particularly if Arizona continues losing.
He also mentioned Brissett as a potential trade candidate if injuries create opportunities elsewhere around the league. Head coach Mike LaFleur has publicly backed Brissett as his starter, however, and the team is only considering making Beck active on game days after previously designating him as its emergency third quarterback.
Brissett remains a viable option in two-QB and superflex leagues, but fantasy managers should recognize the risk of a quarterback change later in the season.
Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford completed 40 of his 54 pass attempts for 383 passing yards, three passing touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Monday's Week 5 loss against the Buffalo Bills in overtime. He also took one sack along the way. Stafford put up a valiant effort against the Bills, setting a new career-high for completions in a single game.
A late touchdown pass forced overtime, and Stafford got the Rams in position to win the game with an overtime field goal, but the kick was no good. Stafford now has nine touchdowns over his last four games, and Monday also represented his first game this season without an interception. Even though the 38-year-old doesn't have any rushing upside, he's still a flashy QB1 in fantasy football because of his passing prowess.
Drake Maye, New England Patriots
New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye was nearly unstoppable in Sunday's 45-17 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, completing 26 of 34 passes for 374 yards and four touchdowns without an interception. He also rushed four times for 29 yards, including a 3-yard touchdown run, his first rushing score of the season.
Maye connected with DeMario Douglas for touchdowns of 35 and eight yards, while Hunter Henry and Kyle Williams added scoring receptions of 11 and 34 yards, respectively. It was a remarkable performance from a quarterback who opened the season with just one touchdown pass and six interceptions through three games.
After throwing three touchdowns against Buffalo last week, Maye has now tossed seven over his past two outings, with 643 passing yards during that stretch. His 150.9 passer rating against Las Vegas was another indication of just how sharp he looked. Maye has quickly put his difficult September behind him and enters a Week 6 home matchup against the New York Jets looking like an every-week fantasy QB1 again.
