Fame Ijeboi Entrenched as Purdue RB1
Purdue junior running back Fame Ijeboi has taken the bulk of the first-team work throughout the summer, setting himself up for a big workload come this fall. With Devin Mockobee, who led the team in rushing the past four seasons, having graduated, Ijeboi steps into a potential heavy-volume role. Ijeboi comes in from Minnesota, where he spent a handful of games as the lead back filling in for an injured Darius Taylor last season. He rushed 97 times for 441 yards and two touchdowns on the year, gaining some Big Ten experience ahead of his debut season with Purdue. Ijeboi will debut as a Boilermaker on September 4th, when Purdue hosts Indiana State.
