Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 16:
Michael Wilson, WR, Arizona Cardinals
He has seen double-digit targets in all four games that Harrison has missed. When Harrison returned in the Week 13 loss to the Bucs, Wilson caught just three passes for 36 yards. Wilson's ceiling will come down if Harrison returns this Sunday against the Falcons, but if Harrison misses a third straight game, Wilson will be a no-brainer, must-start WR1 in fantasy.
Jakobi Meyers, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
The week prior in the big win over the Indianapolis Colts, Meyers had double-digit targets for the third time all year and the first time since being traded from the Raiders to the Jaguars. Meyers has helped unlock Jacksonville's offense in the second half of the season. He went from averaging 50.3 yards per game and 7.2 yards per target in seven contests with the Raiders to 59.2 yards per game and 9.3 yards per target in six games with the Jags. Meyers will have a big test in Week 16 against the Broncos defense, but he'll still have WR2 upside in fantasy.
Troy Franklin, WR, Denver Broncos
Franklin is a top-30 PPR receiver on the season, but he's been a boom-or-bust player throughout. He has three top-10 finishes among receivers, but five outside the top 50. Against a Jags' defense that ranks 20th against fantasy receivers, Franklin has a quality matchup, but remains a volatile option prone to big swings in production.
Ladd McConkey, WR, Los Angeles Chargers
Even with Quentin Johnston out, McConkey saw fewer targets and no red-zone targets, as opportunities were distributed elsewhere. Week 16 offers a potential rebound against a Dallas Cowboys secondary that ranks last in passing yards and touchdowns allowed, but game script remains a concern. McConkey remains a volatile, low-end WR2 with upside in a possibly favorable matchup.
Adonai Mitchell, WR, New York Jets
He's played 85.4% of the snaps, ranking 10th among all wide receivers in targets (33) and posting the highest air yards share (53.4%) in the league over that span. The quarterback situation will limit his ceiling, but Mitchell is flashing the upside that fantasy managers want to see. It'll be a challenge for Mitchell to produce on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints, who have now strung together five straight games where they've held the opposing quarterback to under 200 passing yards. He is in flex consideration for Week 16.
