Alvin Kamara Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Kamara reportedly is dealing with a right MCL sprain, according to Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football. The 30-year-old isn't expected to be placed on injured reserve, but he will miss some time.

The Saints RB1 looks to have avoided a significant injury. His initial timeline after suffering the injury in Week 12 was reported as one to two weeks, but the team will see how he progresses.
It's possible that Kamara misses just two weeks before returning, but more will be known about his status during the Saints' practice this week.
Alvin Kamara Fantasy Football Outlook
With Kamara sidelined, rookie sixth-rounder Devin Neal stepped into a workhorse role, playing 82% of the snaps and handling 14 carries for 47 yards to go with three receptions (three targets) for 22 yards. Neal looks like a strong short-term replacement for Kamara's fantasy owners if they were able to scoop him up.
Devin Neal's skill set should translate well to the Saints' offense.

Kamara was having a disappointing season before getting injured. The veteran running back was averaging a career low in rushing yards per game (42.8), receiving yards (16.9), and receptions (3.0) with only one touchdown in 11 games. The Saints' offensive environment hasn't helped, but outside of a bounce-back season in 2024, Kamara's efficiency metrics have been poor for a few years now.
Kamara is averaging just 9.2 PPR points per game, ranking as the RB36 among backs with at least three games played. He was a volume-dependent RB3 option before going down, and it's possible his workload isn't the same when he returns. With Neal likely to remain involved, Kamara projects as a low-upside fantasy option once he's back on the field.
