Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 12:
Josh Downs, WR, Colts
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs continues to lose ground in his battle for playing time and volume. As the Colts emerge from their Week 11 bye and prepare for Week 12 against the Kansas City Chiefs, Downs is likely fourth in the pass-catching pecking order behind Michael Pittman Jr., Tyler Warren, and Alec Pierce.
In his last game, the 24-year-old played a mere 43 percent of the offensive snaps, converting two targets into one catch for three yards. The 24-year-old impressed as the WR35 in PPR leagues last season, but he has taken a step backward this year. The Colts are running the ball quite often, and when Daniel Jones does throw, he often looks for a different weapon. Downs ranks outside the top 40 receivers and can no longer be trusted in fantasy starting lineups.
Chris Godwin, WR, Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said that wide receiver Chris Godwin (leg) is trending toward playing on Sunday night against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 12, according to Greg Auman of FOX Sports. Godwin has not played since injuring his fibula in Week 5, but he was able to practice in full on Thursday and appears ready to return this weekend. The 29-year-old has only played in two games in 2025 after suffering a serious ankle dislocation in Week 7 of the 2024 season.
The Bucs have already said that Godwin will have his snaps limited in his first game back after the long layoff, so we wouldn't recommend starting him in fantasy if he's active on Sunday night in a tough matchup on the road. Still, fantasy managers should have Godwin rostered in most leagues for the stretch run, as he figures to be a key target for quarterback Baker Mayfield with Mike Evans (collarbone) likely done for the year.
Kareem Hunt, RB, Chiefs
Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt scored a rushing touchdown for the third consecutive game in his team's 22-19 Week 11 loss to the Denver Broncos. The 30-year-old finished the game with 13 carries for 59 yards and one score. With Isiah Pacheco (knee) sidelined by a knee injury, Hunt has taken over as Kansas City's lead rusher in the team's last two games.
While he's not an explosive player at this point in his career, Hunt has six rushing touchdowns on the season and has proven to be an effective goal-line rusher. Pacheco could return in Week 12 against the Indianapolis Colts, which would cause Hunt to lose a few touches. However, Hunt seems likely to retain his goal-line role even when Pacheco gets back on the field.
In leagues where Hunt remains available, he could be worth targeting on the waiver wire as a touchdown-dependent flex option for fantasy managers. With Pacheco sitting out once again, Hunt projects to hold low-end RB2 upside.
Tyler Lockett, WR, Raiders
Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Tyler Lockett looked like he was on his way out of the league earlier this season as a minimally utilized member of the Tennessee Titans. However, since being released by Tennessee and picked up by Las Vegas, the 33-year-old has found some new life. Over his last two games with the Raiders, Lockett has recorded eight catches for 77 yards on nine targets.
Lockett is tied with wideout Tre Tucker for the target lead among Raiders wide receivers over that span, and he has established chemistry with Las Vegas quarterback Geno Smith from their time playing together with the Seattle Seahawks. Lockett is no longer an explosive downfield threat, but he appears to have established a relatively stable role in Las Vegas.
He could be worth targeting in deep fantasy leagues heading into a Week 12 matchup against the Cleveland Browns.
